This has now reopened and is called 'Iron Bridge'. When it's been added to BITE under that name I'll do a review

Has - apparently - been bought by the team who run the Hour Glass, so expect what they've done (very well) there transposed into here too. Look forward to it.

Currently closed and the freehold is up for sale

Nice relaxing local's pub with an excellent choice of beer including a stout.

The NBI has been newly renovated in 2009, it is currently run by Sarah the landlady who strives to keep a relaxed community atmosphere in the pub. Recently gained its first nomination in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide and serves four local ales and ciders. A really lovely place to unwind and relax in good company. Regular live music on Wed and Fri and the back room is currently housing an art exhibition! I highly recommend you go and see!

Popped in there early one saturday afternoon. Everything seemed to be a bit disorganised this maybe due to the fact that the landlord was setting up a band or something. Iinside the pub it does have character just not my kind of place really. 5/10

Possibly the rudest bar staff I have ever encountered! Really terrible!

If you haven't been to the North Bridge Inn recently you're in for a pleasant surprise. That's with all due respect to the wonderful landlord Eddy Coates who entertained us so well for years with his all encompassing choice of music. Bit by bit amiable new owners have been transforming the dark interior with an eclectic mix of comfortable seating, clean bright decor and flowers on the tables. Some will mourn the loss of the pool table, but it's opened up the back of the pub allowing more people to sit, use the free Wifi, or wander into the pretty garden. There's a choice of local beers, Kronenberg, cider, a very decently priced glass of highly drinkable wine. You can even have a pot of tea served in elegant china (presumably coffee too). Soon there will be food to choose from a well considered menu. As for the music - that's coming along nicely with the recent introduction of Trad Jazz once a month and more treats to come. Not posh, not tatty, no riff-raff, a friendly, mixed - age atmosphere. When the inventive couple running the show have achieved all they set out to, I think this handy local will easily merit a higher rating.

ive tried to meet people in here a few weekends recently, but never seems to be open. But I have driven past on Sundays and mid week evenings, and its open then, strange.

Seems to have re-opened.

The North Bridge seems to be closed. I was told that the Landlord finds it uneconomical to open at the moment.

The sort of pub frequented by Exeter's local "special" fraternity but it's never threatening just - well, chatty and that's fine. The beer assortment is OK - the cider is a safe bet. It's alright - go inside....there are far far worse in this city..
|
Unable to judge as closed in the afternoon with a note saying "back in 5 mins" I didn't wait

Great pub - best music in Exeter, cheap pool table, good ales 10/10

Visited by the sheffield undercovercrew a few weeks ago.......scores 10/10 from me:when I asked for a Havanna Club and the reply was 'seven year old?'I knew I was on to a good thing..was then told none left..they had drunk it all...now these must be my kinda people....just as good was the ambience;lively with a good vibe especially to a northern soulmate like me...and to boot the music was good too. Tempted by the lure of the ad in the Express and Echo of a nite of funky house and hip hop (and something else I can't remember) we ventured forth.Anticipating the nite to be building towards hip hop, we arrived at 9.30ish. More house than funky twas nevertheless good fresh music.Disappointed we only caught one hip hop track so must have missed it...the morale of the tale is we get there earlier next time...8.30 not sure what nites check the press I guess but hey I'm from outa town so what do I know? Party with Tayo @ Cavern Club next week lookin good....see ya there x undercoversister
