3.00 a pint for Taylor's Landlord may not be great value, but the beer was on good form. This is a comfortable town centre pub, the sort of place you can take your mother or your wife to without feeling out of place enjoying a beer or two. Judging by RedRoosterRocker's comments on this and other establishments it really is difficult to know what sort of pub would make him happy.

i visited yesterday for the first time since this place reverted to its old name and oh dear...

you can get a pint of cask ale for 1.95 on a monday but thats as good as it gets..

idont think i'll bother going here again.

Has just reopened as the Red Lion Hotel after a refurbishment. Now appears to be aiming at a slightly different market - at least during the daytime - and offer reasonably priced food and coffee as well as a welcome 3 real ales (Youngs Bitter, Wells Eagle and Taylor's Landlord).

Nice beer garden to the side and plenty of benches to the front of the pub. Some wine deals (Echo Falls etc) and food choices Ok, not much for the vegetarians.

Can get busy over the weekend, but all in all a well kept city centre bar

Owned by Yates's pub chain Town & City who are actually based in Luton. Comfy pub sadly with no real ale though, 6/10

Always a good atmosphere in here at the weekends, great "date bar". It can get a bit packed in there at times but never seems to turn nasty as it can in other Luton hot spots.

Brookes, a nice environment with a good atmosphere. Sadly disappointed with the food, the wrong order was brought out to our table twice, and by the time my partners correct meal arrived, I had finished mine! Disappointingly still, I was not offered anyhting to compensate this. Such a shame for a noce venue.

A very nice venue offering all you could expect from a pub, it's just a shame they can't deliver what they offer. I was served by a young girl who barely looked 16, and could not articulate a decent sentence in English. The food - microwaved to a luke warm temperature. The drinks - too expensive for what you get. Such a shame.

Nice enough place with nice enough atmosphere. Has the same red/beige decor as most pubs/bars in Luton. A bar rather than a traditional pub. The non smoking section only has two areas to sit in and was deserted when I went there on Saturday. Everyone was crammed around the bar. My friend said it was a nice enough B&B as well when she stayed there. The food was pretty nice when I went there with a friend for lunch - better than The Whitehouse.

Posters, advertising the late opening of this town centre bar, invite revellers to join the Brannigans 'Mile High Club' - whatever the heck thats meant to mean. Somewhere to avoid on Friday/Saturday nights (as is pretty much all of Luton town centre). However, its really not that bad a place in the daytime - nicely refurbished recently, good (if overpriced) pool room and Pedigree on tap (and ridiculously cold).

Large pub with big screen for sporting events at the back (which gets busy during the footy) and a separate pool room on the other side of the courtyard. Late licence til 1am so a great place to finish the evening.
