The below review is an excellent description of this place, but the Pride had been replaced with Adnams and Ill also mention that there is a decent selection of standard and premium lagers.

During my visit the projector screen was down and a small group of people seemed to be enjoying themselves playing on a Wii, which is not really my cup of tea.

I would pop in here for a pint if passing again.

Large double roomed bar/restaurant type place. Stripped floors, exposed brick walls. Has a open kitchen at one side so you can see the chefs in action.
The main bar itself is actually a bit small, but the staff were quick enough to make sure you dont have to queue long.

Quite a relaxed atmosphere I thought, and doesnt seem to attract the more braying type of city boys that a lot of the bars around here do.

Only real beer on was Pride, but it was very well kept I have to say, and food smelt great.

More or less a perennial favourite in our firm for leaving do's, birthdays, etc, etc and with good reason. Yes, you might wait a while because the bar is compacted into a 12ft space to give space over to the "theatre" chefs which inevitably means the crowd at the bar gets 3-4 deep between 5-8pm but persevere until the after-work one-pint wonders have buggered off and it pays off.

My only complaint was managing to sit on a table being utterly unaware of the candle already lit on it which burnt a double-fist-sized hole through my shirt and looked like fallout from Chernobyl but I can hardly blame the management for my own stupidity.

Just got back from lunch at and had a great time. Food was fab, the service was very slow which suited us as we were on a long lunch. But I would not recommend for a quick business lunch. Drinks were great and waiters very fun. Haven't been here for drinks after work, might be a bit expensive.

you could knock out a fair few prophecies of your own whilst waiting at the bar in here.

" and lo it came to pass, that people waited for what seemed like an eternity,.....and the barmaid said unto the peasants,..ye shall wait your turn and be damned ye cocks"

Good fish and bread

Nice place. Food expensive, but worthwhile. Bar service can be slow - but you come to somewhere like this to chill out, don't you?

A good mix in the evening of rich City boys and cool Shoreditch girls.

feels a bit like an al bar one but without the slick service. nice enough setting but full of city types celebrating deals with big cigars and food very overpriced. Needs a menu revamp for the evenings. Wouldn't reccommend this.

This is an excellent bar and deserves a high rating - good food and a good choice to hire out for parties. Service at the bar can be slow though, too few staff tied up making complex cocktails...

Chilled out pub/bar with shabby chic look (distressed sofas, chairs not quite matching), good beer (including Leffe), cute bar staff, nice but expensive food.

Was brilliant for watching Euro 2004 - they rearranged the whole place round two large screens, did food platters at half time, brought beer to the tables and also (quite unusual in my experience), it was possible to reserve tables for free!

Much prefer this pub to most of the other city haunts round about.
