In case this helps fellow drinkers, this place has been refurbished and reopened as The Bear and Blacksmith. I didn't visit it, but there are some reviews on Trip Advisor...

I was in Chillington in June 2014 and frequented The Open Arms on a regular basis. I liked the service I got with a smile and made me feel welcome. They served a variety of ales & ciders and there food was tasty and hot all the staff done a great job and always looked after us while we were there. I would recommend The Open Arms to all visitors to Chillington a fun place to be with a friendly atmosphere good job guy's.

locals pub...open plan interior, a bit tired now, reflecting 80's improvements standards. local ales ok but not spectacular.
