New Inn, St Johns Woodback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Has its own sweet shop and Gorilla toilet seats, need I say anymore?

I cycle past this pub every day but on went in for the first time today for Saturday lunch. I think it has been refurbished during the past year or so. Greene King beers were in good condition. Very good food, upmarket menu, and the barman was friendly. Prices were reasonable: not cheap and not expensive. The pub appears to have its own King Charles spaniel which sits on a bar stool looking at customers. Best of all the pub never looks too busy, so a good place to relax away from the busier streets.

Its a bit like the Tardis in reverse, much smaller on the inside than on the outside!

Pleasant enough pub - beer ok Not too impressed with the bar snacks - strange after taste Decor relatively modern - lots of tables for eating.

Lovely back street pub with good Thai & British food. Be wary on Thursday evenings Apr-Aug and winter Sundays Jan-Mar, an Aussie Rules team drinks here after training in Regent's Park. A good bunch of lads but can get a little rowdy on occasion.

I was looking for a pub with a good atmopshere near Primrose Hill for my birthday but couldn't find any that didn't have the charge of 'pretentious' levied against them - until The New Inn. I went for my birthday and had a wonderful time! The pub is quietly sat in a residential area with green tiles, hanging baskets and tables outside. Inside is traditional (traditional 20th Century!) Carpetted, wooden bar with stools, wooden tables, cricket paraphenalia. The pub is particualrly notable for it's tasty, authentic Thai food menu and fantastic pub band - George & Friends - an over 60's trio singing Jazz/Swing and taking requests. Despite being firmly a locals pub, the locals were very friendly and they clearly love this place as by 10pm the place was (comfortably) packed! The bar staff were not so friendly but in more of a slightly shy and hardworking way, rather then rude. Fantastic place - please let it stay loved & unspoilt.

Well appointed street-corner Greene King pub in St Johns Wood, a rather affluent area of North London
The pub itself is rather unremarkable in many respects - a bare boarded single bar, but with a reasonably traditional feel, enhanced by the large drape curtains, brass foot rail and wood pannelling.
The proximity to Lords Cricket Ground is reflected in the existence of a number of cricketing artefacts on display ( gloves, pads etc ) over the bar, together with a few prints of past players. For some unaccountable reason, one of the framed player prints was hanging upside down ( yes, I was sober, it was my first pub of the day ) making it look as though he was standing on his head. I was tempted to ask whether this was meant to depict an Australian cricketer "down under", but I suspect that this rare show of witticism would have been lost on the typically sullen foreign barmaid.
There were 3 handpumps - one dispensing Speckled Hen, one was unclipped and the third had a clip reversed. Upon asking for a pint of IPA, the barmaid apologetically replied "I'm sorry, I'm afraid we only have the chilled version" and pointed to a newish looking continental lager style tall font. I suspect that GK might wish their staff to promote this apparently new product a bit more enthusiastically, but needless to say, I went for the Speckled Hen which, perhaps surprisingly, was in really good form.
In one corner of the room, a silent plasma TV enabled me to catch up on the afternoon's football scores on the Vidiprinter.
Food offered is a mixture of English and Thai menus.
Accommodation is offered - 5 en suite rooms - which is 3 star rated, but this is clearly a pub with rooms and not an hotel.
It's a Greene King pub, which, in itself, will put a good number of people off, but, if you're going to the cricket at Lords, you might want to pop in during one of the intervals or if rain stops play.

Decent sort of place. George was again playing. I like a bloke who laughs at his own jokes! Good atmosphere, good music and all round very civilised and well, just nice. Not a great area for pubs but this is worth going to.

Enjoyed a lovely thai meal here after watching the cricket at nearby Lords. It's not the closest to the ground, but worth seeking out for real ale, good grub and atmosphere

Super Pub, when we travel south to London we always stay there but you need to book well in advance to avoid disappointment as we have been this time. Jan is a great host in a friendly pub and the food and beer excellent. Try it, I am sure you will not be disappointed.

This is a great pub with an excellent staff. I went there on a Saturday night for live music provided by "George and Friends". Good music with lots of laughs. Definitely my favorite pub in Westminster.

Not just OK, super is closer description. Great food, beer and atmosphere. Hostess is most obliging, friendly and helpful, thank you Jan. A compliment obout beer coming from a northerner is indeed a compliment,(we don't usually enjoy beer from southern pubs).

Strangely I lived in St Johns Wood for 5 years but missed this one. Went there the other day. Okay sort of pub.

It's a great local place half way between St Johns Wood High Street and Primrose Hill. Good selection of beers and wine, Thai Food, karaoke and quiz nights. All the locals go here, fairly large but homey.
