Now called the Treehouse and could now be termed a typical Beaconsfield pub, i.e. a bit posh, slanted towards food to attract the 'right' sort of clientele. Nearly walked out as I couldn't see any handpumps, they are hidden from view. Actually they had a beer from the XT brewery and it was in very good condition. I've upped my rating for this pub.

[True to the last comment, Beerintheevening don't ever seem to update anything these days] But.. the Treehouse is a lovely re-invention of the 'pub' and very smart, they also have the lovely XT 4 on as a regular ale as well.

now more of a bar than a pub, and renamed "The Treehouse". Has a good well kept Real Ale on (Guardsman by Windsor and Eton) and a cask cider too, as well as a list of about 20 odd bottled beers of all varieties from all around the world. About 50 wines - 15 or so by the glass, and a list of "66 cocktails to try before you die" on top of what seemed like about 30 in the menu. Surprisingly they did a good coffee too.
Seems more geared towards women, with a salad heavy food menu, but very welcoming nonetheless.
All in all very good despite not being a good old fashioned pub anymore.

Pub has recently changed hands, and is now owned by the same couple that have done a rather magnificent job at it's neighbour, The Swan. When I popped in on Sunday, the impact was immediate, as Summer Lightning (an all-time favourite) was on the middle pump, and in damn fine fettle as well!
The previously miserable Manager, Mooch seems to have a sudden spring in his step too, though it may take some time to get used to seeing him smiling! ;-)

This place looks like a proper pub from the outside and inside it is a proper pub, furnished as a true pub should look.
Cost of drinks above average, but not over the top like the Saracens.
Not clean enough for you to want to eat here, but for us the best of a bad bunch in Beaconsfield.
Shame, because so much more could be made of this establishment and with the few customers we saw for a Saturday night this will be on the closure list. Potentially, this place could be a really nice pub because it has character.
A word to the pub owner/management - get a grip, give a friendlier service, clean up the general appearance inside and make the whole experience more welcoming.

Pleasant enough pub, although one end was totally dominated by the football on the large screen (I like footy but I'm thinking of others..). Three ales of which two were Pride & Deuchars IPA - the latter of which was Ok. Worth a visit again but the Swan & Saracens have more interesting beers on.

Average boozer, Sky Sports on, 3 boring real ales, my London Pride was freezing cold and had seen better days
|
average pub. not the worst in beaconsfield but definately not the best either.

This place is a joke. The reason 30 pubs a day are shutting in the UK. Landlord couldnt be bothered to slice a lemon, overcharged me twice and was generally a waste of space. If the credit crunch leads to this dingy little hole shutting down it would be a good thing and the man running it doesnt deserve a job with his attitude. STEER CLEAR!

A perfectly acceptable pint (usually Pride and Deuchars IPA), plenty of screens for live sport and reasonably price bar food. Can't complain.
|
A so so pub. A bit dingy inside and could use a refurb. Some nice beers, but nothing to go out of your way for.
|
Needs a refit...urgently!!
|
Not too bad, the beer is good. The best bit is the 'no swearing' sign that the employees seem to forget are there!
|
I too noticed that back in the Autumn when I called in there, it could desperately do with a lick of paint. The beer, however, was up to its usual good standard, and thats all that counts as far as I'm concerned.

I was somewhat disappointed with the London Pride on my recent visit, as it was nowhere near as good as I remember it. It might have been a bad barrel, but the Barmaid seemed to take offence when I pointed it out to her, which in turn caused me offence.
This was soon forotten about after a few Speckled Hen's, which did the job I have to admit. I hope that they can sort out the London Pride, and encourage the staff to smile a bit more. At nearly 3 a pint, they should be positively beaming!!

Great food, the sunday lunch is the best around... better than the god awful chain pubs dominating the main street.
|
MOOCHY YOU WOULD SAY THAT YOU BLOODY WORK THERE
|
popped in to moochy's fav pub, the clientele at that time were a couple of guys who couldnt be older than 14 and another couple of guys no youngfer than 75
get all sorts kindergarten to pensioners
|
Unless you are 60+, or you have never been in Beaconsfield, then you have to be a complete tosser to end up in this pub!
Watch out for the guy slitting his wrists in the corner!
|
One of the better pubs in Beaconsfield, the beer here isn't bad, the atmosphere is friendly and the toilets are kept pretty clean. At least it feels like a real pub (unlike the awful Saracens Head). Food isn't very good but not the worst in town. Sky television for those interested in watching the sports.

Every one who writes a comment for this pub seems to slag the swan off, seems to be a pattern forming, they are all yocals who do not drink anywhere else but the dickens how sad. no swearing which is fair enough oh unless your behind the bar then swear all you want.

Great Pub, Great Beer, Great fun, no idiots allowed in there, so would definately recommend!!!

Nice English Pub, just what I was looking for after a difficult and most dreadful experience at its neighbour, the Swan. I recommend this Pub to anyone looking for traditional Beer and warm hospitality, as it restored my faith in the English immediately. The other Caf could learn a lot from this establishment.
|
Family friendly, great little Pub. We all had a great Sunday Roast in there, and proceeded to drink the rest of the day away on a very well kept Barrel of London Pride. Highly recommended for Ale, Food and general Ambience. The locals also appear to be a lot more friendly than at the one further down the Road; I think it's called the Swan or something.
|
a pub that constantly smells of prep cooking oil mmmmm yummy, bit clostrafobic more like a train carriage, not the best pint in the world and the food is pretty unimpressive
|
Small, but cosy and has a decent Patio out the back. Well kept selection of Beers, and excellent, Value-for-Money Food served most of the day/night. Becoming more popular with locals owing to the demise of it's neighbour, The Old Hare,(another victim of "redevelopment!")as the Landlord does a good job, and keeps a decent pint of Speckled Hen!!. The only downside is that the Bar Manager is a Manchester United fan, but perhaps all the more reason to go and annoy him!!
