Gone - Terminal 1 disused.

Rather dead airport Wetherspoons. Only 1 ale was actually on, despite all the pumps being clipped. The solitary beer was one of their collaborations - Adnams/Sixpoint Brooklyn Bitter. There was a reasonable cider selection in bottles. The only other customers on our visit were airport workers. But then, Terminal 1 is now on its last legs. Food was very expensive and the menu was limited.

Seen quite a few subtle changes here, in the years I've been working in Terminal 1. Expect to pay more than you would in a normal Wetherspoons, unless you're airport staff, then you get 20% discount. Usually London Pride, Abbot, and a guest ale on. All well kept. Food normally quick to come out, and most of the staff have a personality, so you can actually talk to them. Very popular with airport staff in the evenings, after a busy shift, which to me, is a great advert.

It's a Wetherspoons... It's in an airport... Two of the five handpumps advertised Shepherd Neame's Bishops Finger but both turned out to be off... As expected, had to ask for my pint of Abbott to be topped-up...

Visited twice in the same weekend due to airport delays, first time early on Sat morning, second at Sunday lunchtime.
Actually fairly impressive for an airport Spoons. Nice food, prompt service despite being horrendously busy. Decent pint of Bishops Finger, ideal fortification for a 36-hour delayed flight to Hong Kong via Finland!!

well well well.. what can i say.. everything seem so square and uncomfortable. i know this is an airport but they really want you to know that at the sky lark. it feels like sitting in the departure lounge before your there. maybe i had a bad experience and it was there off day when i was there but cold food and warm beer????? shouldn't it be the other way round

Not bad spoons presuming its location. Decent pint of SN Bishops Finger. 6/10
