This is the most awful pub in Dorset, it used to be good and Greene King have completed a great re vamp, however unfortunatley they have put in a new Manager "Paul ??", he is rude, arrogant and doesnt have any care for his customers of staff, if you want to be treated with any respect there are plenty of other pub / restaurants in the same vacinity.. We will NEVER be returning and I would advise you to not be disappointed and do not even venture there

I've been visiting this pub through all it's incarnations (Since back when there used to be a donkey and a bouncy castle). Nice location and building. Great friendly staff. Unfortunately the new landlord has awful manner and is rude to the staff, blaming them for his mistakes, etc. 3 Ales on Tap, kept in good condition, however, so if you can avoid this man, then you might have a chance of a good visit.

Excellent building and surrounds, beer OK, service OK, meal was such that we complained for the first time in some 20 years, manager less than interested...will not return.

Just revamped. A very friendly pub which sells a host of keg beers and some guest beers. Focussed on the family and split into two bars, one for the locals and the other for families. Food is good and the service likewise. Overall, well worth a visit, but not as good as the Olive Branch in town.

Oh dear. Average food. Beer not too bad. Service excellent. But such a waste of a location! Lovely country lane, easy to get to from the A31, tree lined garden, gorgeous thatched roof. I've lived near this pub for years and never seen anyone make any effort with the huge amount of space at their disposal. A massive beer garden suitable for all sorts of summer events but never utilised. Maybe the small horse in the field with the tree would complain. Why not a live band on a small stage one summer's evening? Or maybe a kids day with a bouncy castle? A barbeque even?! NOTHING!! EVER!! It's not like the pub trade doesn't need the custom. Maybe there's a licence issue. Oh well. It will, and always does, remain average.

This is a really nice old traditional and cosy pub in a quiet setting but not hard to find. Lots of choices of places to sit including the large garden and the staff are friendly without being intrusive. I didn't try the menu the last time I visited but it looks interesting and reasonably good value.

Excellent menu and beer, and reasonably priced. Advisable to book on Sunday lunchtimes as it gets busy after 1. Huge beer garden with children's play area. Since moving to Ferndown this has been my local, and I thoroughly recommend it.

Friendly and efficient service from all the staff, seems to have a nice personal touch. Tasty blackboard menu. Dog and children friendly with a large and nice outside garden. Open all day and is well supported by the local community.
