Down an alley off the main street. A worn looking pub with a kind of mini gallery set up towards the op end. Didn't rate the ale. Mainly populated with visitors to the town but then so is everything else in Keswick.

First visit to this Robinsons run pub just off the main street, we missed this one last year as it appeared to be very foodie.
It does sell food and at 6.30pm was doing a good trade but it also has 6 hand pumps with 6 ales on 4 from Robinsons and 2 from Hartley's, I had a pint of their Cumbrian XB @ 4.0%.
The down stairs is where the bar is along with seating areas for drinkers and diners, upstairs there's more of a restaurant area.
Music playing at a decent level. Good attentive service, pictures of the local area and well known local people & a well kept ale.

Long, narrow pub in the naff Packhorse Court. Six pumps dispense Robinsons beers. I had a pint of the Double Hop IPA - crap, and expensive (£3.50).

They now do 3 thirds of real ale at £3.30. There was a choice of about 6 on my recent visit.

The Pack Horse is one of the oldest pubs in keswick and serves Robinsons Ale which are excellent. The food is also of an excellent standard, the best pub food in keswick,i would describe it as being good honest pub grub. The Publican is a genuine local character who is happy to have a good chat. Infact THE PACK HORSE IS PROBABLY THE BEST PUB IN KESWICK

This has improved since last year. The beers are acceptable and they have a Wednesday night quiz (not to be taken too seriously). The guvnor was happy to let us linger after the other punters had gone home.

This used to be one of the better pubs in Keswick. But on my last visit here was a shortage of real ale and what was on was not in good form. What's more there seemed to be no desire to remedy the situation. Luckily the Dog & Gun's just across the road! Very disappointing.

Down an alleway off the main street this is worth checking out. Narrrow but deceptively large pub with a substantial dining area upstairs. Good choice of at least 3 real ales. Food is excellent & well served. We were lucky enough to share a few drinks with the landlord Matty & his wife Helen. Lovely, genuine people who take a pride in what they do, & it was them who made it a great night for us. Highly recommended.

Now I know why it was empty when we walked in...I asked the lady at the bar for a wine list and recieved a very short 'haven't got one' answer without offering anything else. My partner then asked for a pint of Guiness to be told 'its off' in the same disinterested manner. Not a warm, customer freindly welcome at all. When we did eventually get our drinks but the wine I had was undrinkable, I can only imagine the bottle had been open for some time. We certainly will be advising friends not to visit there as there are many other pubs in Keswick to choose from.

This is one of the best pubs in Keswick. Having seen that it might have closed (from another listing here) I was apprehensive and one of the first things I did when I arrived in Keswick was to see if it HAD closed; it hasn't. Like all Keswick pubs it's crowded, but not too much so. The shift from Jennings hasn't been as dramatic as I had feared. The food is still (probably) the best pub food in Keswick. The beer is not so good as it was, but still acceptable.

I took my family here after Christmas. It's changed hands, now being a Robinsons pub. The food was still good but the beers weren't very well kept.

I am really impressed by this pub. The food is really good (better than normal pub food standards) and well presented. Drinks very good and price is good compared to others nearby.

This is one of my favourite pubs in Keswick. It's a bit hidden away, off the main drag but well worth the visit. It usually has the complete sweep of Jennings ales and the food is well above average. I tried a Tournedos Rossini and a pint of Jennings Cockerhoop after a mountain gear shopping trip last Winter and went to Lakeland Pub Heaven!
