Went two weekends ago for lunch as literally years since I've last been. I can't believe the same owners are still running the place! The internal decor has changed a bit. The owner who said he recognised me, came over to have a quick chat, which is such a rare occurrance nowadays, and a really great touch. The food is still similar to my last visit, but still good, especially for the price. The beers (Broadside) was also decent quality too. - Overall I'd recommend it - The gardens are still there and from memory looked pretty good in the summer.

Very friendly owner who sat down and chatted to us and we found out that we'd worked at the same site (although different companies). Nice pint of Eagle but had to leave as they close at 3 on a Sunday (left at 330). Interesting and friendly locals; one old fella reckons he drunk 40 pints in one session. Must go back to find out the details! We will try the food next time as prices look good and they seem to be very busy over the weekend.

My wife and I have stayed overnight in our motorcaravan at this site. We have found everyone very pleasant and chatty. We had a nice pint of beer and dinner of lamb shank with potatoes and veg. We will visit again this year.

Popped in her early doors on a Friday evening, and was the only customer in. Landlord was very friednly, and took the time to sit down and have a chat even though he was obviously very busy preparing for evening.
Quality pint of Wells Eagle.
My only complaint is I couldn't stay longer. By the sound of it, it's very popular for food too.

Very disappointed when visiting this pub last weekend. On entering from the car park, we found a woman glaring at us. She quickly snapped at us saying 'Have you booked?' I wasn't aware I had to book to have a quiet pint! When I stated I was only here for a drink, she disappeared off into the kitchen. I thought this 'welcome' was quite uncalled for. In addition, it appears the elderly locals don't take kindly to visitors and we got some very strange looks from some who were suspicious of who we were. The pub itself was very pleasant and there were a few real ales available - Adnam's Broadside, Wells Eagle IPA and Bombardier. However, first impressions tend to last and I wouldn't encourage anybody to visit here until the staff learn to get some manners.

Really lovely pub, really good quality food, but low cost. Gorgeous gardens and the landlord has been there 35 years plus so must be doing something right! Also has free jazz on a sunday evening.

Friendly, typical old-fashioned Bedfordshire village pub with decent steaks and Wells beers. Nice garden.

Staff are friendly and welcoming, worth the journey to find it, really pleasant interior and exterior, good price for drinks, excellent choice of food, some is standard pub fare (all at great prices) but some nice alternatives to be found too. Really good experience. Beer garden is nice and secluded.
