Usual Wetherspoons serving issues. Maybe customers should use the app and order stuff online from in the bar. Outside seating area (hotel upstairs now, too) from where you can watch drug raids at Divas next door or, across the road, observe the phalanx of smokers outside Ebemeezers and Moderation. Too big though, as are most ‘Spoons IMHO.

I come to Hull regally from to Nederland’s and I made out a poor review of the Zachariah Pearson’s so I was a little reluctant to enter another J. D. Wetherspoons.
I remembers this as a furnishing store, so I entered. The bar is large with a long serving bar counter and the pace was no all that busy so a bartender comes to serve me. I order a pint of Abbots beer, as I don’t stand at bars on more I find a empty table, the tables and chairs are so high! Just my fit so maybe a Dutchman makes them LOL!
I drank two pints of Abbots, it was good, and the service was good on both trips to the bar. On looking about I recognised so some people from my visit to the Zac Pearson, one even waved a greeting, that he remembered me.
In whole I enjoyed this visit; I stay a little as a loner and was not bothered by anyone. But got a feeling by looking around that most of the drinkers were on a poverty level, and came from poor backgrounds. I visited on a late Monday afternoon. And think it would be a different story, say late at the weekends.

One of the worst Wetherspoons we have been in! Crap service and I had to send two beers back - we ended up drinking shorts but really we should have left and gone somewhere else (but is was near our hotel and getting late). There are 3 other 'spoons in town and plenty of good pubs so leave this one out!

The usual dreadful 'spoons service and the usual smell of old mans farts. Pay a few pennies more and go to a proper pub

My fave Wetherspoons bar in Hull. Large, open pub but always seems to have a friendly, local atmosphere. Usual good value 'Spoons food and beer. Popular for all age groups. A number of tv screens for sports.

Great boozer for meeting people, has some nice ales and real cider... shame you can never get served.
|
An average 'Spoons, service ok but not brilliant when I visited on a quiet Sunday evening. Usual 'Spoons food menu and a decent selection of cask ales; the one I tried was well kept.

Difficult to get served sometimes, despite not many punters. Not somewhere you'd go on a first date but cheap & cheerful.

Me and 2 fellow members of the Harlequins Rugby League Firm stormed this pub before our recent visit to the KC Stadium. We found it to be busy, plenty of FC fans were in so we had to keep our coats on in order to avoid a ruck. Large, single room Wetherspoons that was pretty standard and inoffensive. Plenty of ales were on offer, but I elected for an Erdinger instead, which was at the upper end of the Wetherspoons prices, and sadly nowhere near cold enough. Decided to sneak out undetected afterwards. There is nothing wrong with this place, but I prefer the other Wetherspoons in Hull. They also show Sky Sports here, somewhat unusual for a Spoons.

Large barn like 'spoons close to Paragon station. In a boxy modern building with large industrial fan units and art deco like wooden panels, very odd but very Wetherspoon's. Normal JDW type of beer range of average quality, usual mix of customers but quite a friendly bunch. The place was very busy with food orders on my Friday lunchtime visit but still got served in just over five minutes.

Decent enough spoons, went in before the rugby on Sunday and enjoyed a good gammon egg and chips and a couple of IPAs.

Friendly quick service and a superb 10/10 pint of Triple FFF "Altons Pride" was quaffed, 8/10

This Wetherspoons has been consistently well run for two or three years now. Very varied clientele but all seem to be welcomed with a smile and good service. Not the biggest range of guest beers but always a couple on. It's OK for breakfast as well. One of the best pubs in the chain in my experience.

Does exactly what it says on the tin. It's a biggish Wetherspoons, so you know what it's like. Lively mix of people, but also quiet corners.
Excellent pint of Schiehallion.

Visited on Fri 25/01/08. This is a very efficiently-run Wetherspoon for its size. I enjoyed very well-kept Vale Pale Ale (VPA)together with a scrumptious plate of pasta and meatballs.
Pub's 6.6 rating is a little misleading - for a spoons it really is good. 8/10

Fairly typical Wetherspoon's in the ground floor of an office block. Usual 'Spoons range of ales plus a few guests; beer served in good condition and service was efficient. Convenient for the station.

Noisy pub with efficient staff
