Just come back from another Macmullens pub (Jolly Farmers Slades Hill) also recently revamped same menu as the Plough. Really good food and service. Just hope they keep it up and don't let it go down like the Plough.

What a difference from the opening night when full of people good food excellent quick service.------- We were guests for a party of 6 early last Sat evening 2nd June. Not too many diners at this time we were shown to our pre reserved rickety table in the front bar. We were given no cutlery for our starters which we took from another table. We had to wait approx 1 hr for our main course even after reminding the waitress. I ordered k fish which looked like a child's portion I queried this and was told it was k size. The batter was hard and hardly any fish inside. My wife had chicken and bacon salad with croutons, the chicken was dry and tough and the bacon was 2 strips of fat the "croutons" consisted of 3. As we were non paying guests we did not complain as we felt it would embarrass our host. Will not be going back.

Good pub - nice lunches - busy working crowd. McMullen and Sons Pub with reasonable Herts ale selection. Recommended.
