Visited the pub on Wednesday evening. Food was good and freshly cooked. The staff were friendly and the chef accommodating. Will go back when in the area. Feel that it was value-for-money.

I have been coming here since July 2003 for meals and have never had a substandard one yet. It is the archetypal village pub and a chef who knows his job.

Having avoided this after it "got posh and expensive" gave it a try this week. It seems to be a real pub again (with a pool table), though it still has a restaurant. Reasonably good beer and not as expensive as it was (though I didn't eat anything more than a pack of crisps).

This place got expensive!!!!! Probably not worth the money to be honest. Shame

Excellent food and drink though a touch on the expensive side. But more than worth it.

Visited the pub on Sunday evening. Good beer but no atmosphere as there were only a couple of locals in. It was cool enough in the bar to have to keep your coat on but this was balanced with a nice view of the barmaid bending over to stoke the fire. Probably a different place on Saturdays and lunch times.
