Travel 2 hours by car and found the Wheatsheaf Inn easy on the main road and received a nice welcome. Accomodated my needs for food and drink and I stayed for just one night. The pub is large with a nice conservatory. The land lord is very welcoming and the staff provide a nice friendly atmosphere. Car park is large and my car was safe all night. I would return and recommend the Wheatsheaf.

Pleasant enough place with reasonable food , beer and service without being outstanding in any department.

Nice enough pub, lots of room inside including a rather austere 'conservatory' type extension. Very friendly & helpful staff looked after 15 of us without any problems. Food good and fairly cheap too and a good selection of specials on. Doombar, London pride and Gales Seafarer on pump, I tried the Seafarer which was fine.

Recently called in on Saturday lunch time. Wasn't that hungry so just had the soup of the day which was celery and a cheese soup served with fresh bread and butter. This was very good but the apple & rhubarb crumble afters wasn't. Rather strange after taste to the crumble. However, my brother enjoyed his roast pork main course. The menu had a reasonable choice with specials of the day. There is a separate dining area in a bright, glassed, extension to one side and probably as it was the weekend had family diners. I wondered why all the tables in the main pub bar area were also set for meals. A pub usually would leave a few unlaid for the ordinary drinker. The local and fairly mature (notice, I'm polite) customers who obviously all knew each other were congregated at the bar which one could describe as giving the pub either a nice community feel or being cliquey depending whether one is gin_and_tonic or not! Overall, well worth a visit.

Overall a decent option if you're in the area. The food is decent and reasonably priced and the service very friendly (no idea what gin_and_tonic is on about - I couldn't fault the service and am in my twenties, there were also a bunch of lads in at the same time who looked perfectly happy!). My only criticism is that the building's fairly new, and whilst the owners have clearly made an effort to give the bar a bit of character, I still found the decor somehow a bit lifeless.

The Wheatsheaf is my local pub. it's always got a good atmosphere the staff are polite and helpful, the food is always of a high standard and it serves good beer. i don't know why gin_and_tonic posted such a bad and clearly unfair review. well worth a visit!

The staff are very friendly, great food every time but, if there is something that you require that is not on the menu then ask and they will do their best for you , good selection of beers etc.
Nice place to have dinner parties eg. christmas parties or birthday dinners or just to meet up with friends.

during the day this is a haven for SAGA outings and OAP coachtrips. The staff are unfriendly towards non-regulars or anyone under 65. the decor is tired and in need of repair, wallpaper peeling off and simply missing in places. The food was overpriced and looking at one table, overcooked and possibly inedible. The pint of pride that I sampled was decidedly average, lacking the usual sparkle and freshness that I expect from a normally excellent beer, and the stella was pretty much the same. I will not be returning here, despite it being close enough to me to walk.

Yes the food is excellent but it is also a locals pub where everyone is welcome and is guaranteed a warm welcome and an excellent pint of real ale.

Sparse reviews for a pub that sells a decent pint. I had the Hip Hop which was glorious. The pub seems a bit TOO food-orientated for my liking but the portions looked decent enough - I get the feeling that it is situated on the wrong side of the busy road outside as nobody appeared to be a local from Grayswood..... Still, the beer is great - try this place....
