They seem to have a decent manager running the place as I found the service good and the ale on decent form. As you're a captive audience they don't really have to try but at least this is one Wetherspoons that seems to make an effort. Saying that it is still a Wetherspoons though.

Been here twice when i've ended my trip in Scotland and am about to fly home.
One of the better Airport 'spoons but still far too pricey for my liking.
At least 5 ales on draught each time I have been in. I eat here once and the food was good.
I still prefer the 'spoons at Glasgow Airport though!

After an aborted attempt to watch a friendly football match in Dundee, I rounded up my 24 hours in Scotland at the Sir Walter Scott at Edinburgh Airport. This is a typical airport branch of Wetherspoons. 3 ales were on - Caledonian Sir Walter Scott & Golden Son & Greene King Abbot Ale. Ciders were Green Valley Last Straw, Thatchers Cheddar Valley & Gwynt y Ddraig Farmhouse Scrumpy. Thatchers Perry was also on, as part of their cider festival. Most people were enjoying breakfasts and there were plenty of staff available to take their orders. As you'd expect given its airport location, it's a little more expensive than your local Wetherspoons (80p more per pint than the Arbroath Spoons). But it beats sitting in the departure lounge staring at the departure screens or even worse shopping!

Very busy; reasonable number of staff on duty so didn't have to wait too long. A fair selection of real ales and they were in very acceptable condition. Not unplasant while you wait for your flight.

The old Wetherspoons has closed and the new Wetherspoon's called The Sir Walter Scott has sprung up in it's place. It's in the model of a wood panelled library a bit packed with tables. Gorgeous selection of real ale. I don't bother with the lounges anymore, just grab a snug, a tasty pint and a snack.

Grossly overpriced. Real ales, rubbish. Not a great advert for JDs

What a load of tosh this place is ....even worse when your stranded at the place (Thanks Flybe - Most useless Airline Award 2007)

What a joke. Wetherspoons is synonymous with cheap real ales and cheap grub (the only two things that are good about Wetherspoons)and there's neither here! agree with previous post about banning the smoking. Airport pubs are never great but this is the worst.

Thank God for the smoking ban re this place! Far too small, and EXPENSIVE! Maybe it's beacuse of their rental. Better off going airside to the other bars.
