NIce little pub that has music on regularly. I saw Right Said Fred there a few months ago and it was brilliant fun. Best bit about this pub is the quality of the beer. As a Yorkshire man exiled to the South this is the best place to get a decent pint of Timothy Taylor's.

Plus points - the manager when I went in was very helpful and they had a decent pint of Doom Bar on.

Negatives - It's a Lloyd's Bar so all the atmosphere of a Wetherspoons (i.e. drunk people even at lunchtime) but with more expensive prices.

Worth visiting if you want to watch sport on TV as there are plenty of screens. If you want a quiet pint and a chat with friends, Chichester has better pubs.

Tucked away down a narrow alley just off the pedestrianised shopping precinct, this at first glance looks as though it could be a hidden gem of a quaint old pub. Thats not quite what we found though, although there is some exposed brickwork and a couple of old leather sofas just inside the door.

Essentially its a sports bar with five plasmas dotted around the place, a pool table and a darts board.

Beers on offer were Timothy Taylor Landlord, Greene King IPA and Abbot Ale. The only cider was Strongbow unfortunately.

I worked here in 2001 as a student and from the reviews not much has changed!
Sort it out Hole in The Wall! Used to be nice for pensioners at lunch times and students in the evenings...sounds like a chav haven now.
Shame

Came here Saturday night (22 July) and if I am being honest, this boozer did nowt for me. The video duke box was even frozen. If we had not had come to this pub, it would have made no difference to our night as it was that dull. Start in the Dolphin and Anchor on out on a Friday/Saturday night for the cheaper drinks, but I then wouldn't bother coming to this place like we did. YAWN! At least we were served fairly quickly though.

This is my local, it's been through some tough times over recent years but it's still the only pub worth drinking in! In a town that is fast becoming overrun with posh wine bars / restaurants the Hole in the Wall is a genuine boozer, good atmosphere and friendly service, food is served daily and the November 05 make over has meant that its decor can compete with those damn wine bars!! Long live the Hole In the Wall !!

Recemtly changed hands I was told last weekend. Excellent Ruddles County. Changed to Greene King IPA which was totally off - but all credt to staff - no argument - and back to the County.....

Apart from the reasl ale all the food is all under 2 quid 50p - at least at lunchtime which is amazing. The scampi and chips was fine. Friendly staff - nice location down a side street near the centre.

Lots of trouble in the evenings, un caring staff, but good beer

Good pub, very friendly atmosphere. Mirrors in the gents are worth a laugh but the 'everything is under 2' deal really makes a difference. 'Refreshing'

Fairly small pub with a good atmosphere on a weekday night, not too expensive beers, a small range of ales (eg Bass, Old Speckled Hen, London Pride), and excellent jukebox content.
