Greyhound, Farndonback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
The Hare was so busy last Friday night that I couldn't get to the bar to see the full range of beers so I opted for a very good pint of Weetwood Best Bitter which cost £4.80. The menu impressed us - my pork, cider and mustard pie with seasonal greens, hand cut chips and a jug of gravy cost £20 and wasn't your typical pie and chips; my wife's black tea steeped chickpea curry, jasmine rice, onion and butternut bhaji with mint yoghurt cost £17.50 and was equally delicious. Service was spot on despite the large number of people eating and drinking.

This is a much more traditional pub than the Farndon Arms up the road, with a far more down to earth feel. However similar to the Farndon Arms, it was very quiet with only one other customer on Christmas Eve lunchtime. Three bog standard ales were on - Timothy Taylor Landlord, Courage Best & Everards Tiger. But luckily for me, they did have a real cider on - Westons Old Rosie. This was the only real cider I found in all 10 Cheshire pubs we sampled. From the front door, you can see the old bridge over the River Dee which crosses into Wales. The Nags Head opposite the Farndon Arms was still closed. So the Greyhound appeared to be the best pub in the village.

This pub had 3 ales on including a very good Tim Taylor Landlord but alas nothing local. I was unable to sample the fare due to a large party due to attend. Seemed a nice pub though.

The Hoond is a great pub. They serve the best pint of mild in Cheshire Bud!

Excellent local pub, great beers including Deuchars. Belly busting portions of food served at Sunday Lunchtimes. Bar is currently being updated
