Beers over the past two weeks, St Austell HSD, Tribute, Proper Job and Barracuda. Sense the feeling that customers are taken for granted. I did have a concern or two about the food but management didn't seem too bothered about it. The waitress didn't write our order down which led to an error.

Yet another new member of the bar staff being trained - they don't seem to last long. Barracuda was the latest different beer on offer.
|
Four ales on this time; Tribute, HSD, Liquid Sunshine and Cornish Best. The Yorkshire puddings are back on the menu - although not as enjoyable as they used to be. New bar girl this year. She seemed too automated like a robot and needed to interact more.

Three ales always on. The latest being: Liquid Sunshine, Dartmoor and Tribute. Good food and service, but not cheap.

Staying at the nearby excellent Hessenford Mill B&B thought we would try the Copley Arms. St Austell House where our last visit a couple of years ago was marred by a barmaid happier to chat to her mates than serve paying punters. This time it felt even worse. The pub just did not feel welcoming. I enquired the beer prices for the 3 draught ales. Tribute was at £3.60, cheapest at £3.25. Didn't feel like justifying a high price in a miserable atmosphere, so made a quick exit. Strangely the bar staff had to look up the beer prices on the till. I can only assume the prices are loaded depending on location and what the punters will pay. It is a pleasant enough pub and I will try it again, but this time it just did not feel right. Date of visit 5/4/14

Still the regular beers of Tribute, Trelawney and HSD. Quiet inside for Thursday lunch.

Change of menu this year and sadly the giant Yorkshire puddings are no longer available. Not quite the the enjoyment as the last couple of years.
|
St Austell Brewery-tied pub, so had a couple of their ales on tap, including the very drinkable Trelawney. Food is always decent - enjoy the filled giant Yorkshire puddings - and staff friendly and helpful. Could explain why it is always pretty busy whenever I go in. Decent local pub - can't ask much more from it.

We come here often when on holiday. Easy pub to choose if you are in need of decent food and a pint or three. Large pub with plenty of tables for dining. Staff always friendly and accommodating. My daughter had spare ribs which, unfortunately, was very fatty and gristly - rather inedible. We informed the waitress and with no fuss she changed it for a different meal. St Austell beers including their new Trelawny ale.

As promised visited here on a Monday evening. Certainly busier than lunchtimes - and noisier. I'm sure there were more kids than adults and not all of them behaving themselves. We were lucky to order our meals just before a party of six parents and just as many offspring arrived at the table next to us. I was glad to get the meal over with and get out. The staff did well to cope with the demand - but I'll stick to lunchtimes in future.

Called in on a Tuesday lunchtime, there were only a few people eating, which made it quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Enjoyed the good quality food washed down with the usual St Austell ales. The young bar girl does her job well and knows how to serve a full pint. Will certainly try an evening meal before our holiday is over.

Great Pub,good food, fair Beer, friendly Staff and busy in summer months, better when off season as easier to get a parking space and easier to get a meal if you haven't booked in advance,if you try that in high season you'll go elsewhere as they get booked up. Locals are friendly without being in your face ,all in all a good place to visit.

We have now stayed several times B&B at the Copley Arms over the last few years and I have to say it is a pleasure staying there. Both Mike and Di are perfect hosts a credit to any brewery with nothing being to much trouble always aiming to keep the customer happy ,most professional. The full breakfasts are always first class plentifull piping hot and served with Tambllyn's finest pork sausages which are delicious. In addition we have dined in the restaurant on many occasions and we have yest to have a meal which would necessitate a complaint and the staff are always friendly. The portions of the meals are also exceptional with the Tribute Ale pie being a big success with myself. I dont really need to consult the menu. In addition the accommodation is always fresh, and clean just what you need after a long drive. Long may it continue.

Lovely pub with good selection of beer plus an excellent menu. The meals in giant Yorkshires are highly recommended.

A very enjoyable atmosphere with good draught beers [three], meals are excellent, outdoor seating with a river running between its two car parks. No chance of you hearing a mobile in use, that's for sure. I enjoyed my visit!
