Serves good beers from the Marston's portfolio. Friendly staff, chatty customers. Naff TV programs detract from what is a very welcoming pub.

can recommend this pub for several reasons-excellent atmosphere-friendly -someone will always have something to talk to you about!!!beers excellent banks' bitter and mild-always a couple of guest real ales-jennings/burton/empire/many more rotated regularly....sky tv....cheap cobs...
carling/fosters/kronenberg draught lagers...on bus route 30 seconds from wednesfield village....altogether a good boozer!!!

A super looking cottage type pub, white rendered, with central door and etched windows. There are three main rooms, with the door to the left opening out into the bar area, where there was Sky TV. The other rooms were quieter lounges, with some nice pictures and a few of the old saucy seaside postcards on the wall. Plainish white interior.

Service was good and friendly, the clientele mainly a more maturer type, 30s upward, but i have seen younger in here.

The beer - well after the usual tosh, there is Banks's MILD and Bitter Cask, on electric pump - the MILD is excellent. There were three handpulls, Marstons Ashes and Old Empire, both of which were fine, as well as Jennings Cocker Hoop.

A great traditional place; with the Vine up the road, you would come to Wednesfield for these two places alone. Class

Called in while trying the newly reopened Vine and was not disappointed with the Marstons Old Empire. Although quiet when I was there, had a friendly local feel about it.

Decent pub serving Banks's Bitter and Mild and 3 Guest Ales (though the Bitter and Mild isnt on handpump. Situated on the 559 Bus route from Wolverhampton (very regular service) it is literally 2 minutes walk from Wednesfield Town Centre. It can get a tad smokey, though ironically when we went in the `Smoke Room' there was no one smoking at all! If you're in the area check it out.

A good old fashioned pub with a friendly bunch of customers, useful that it is open till 11.30PM on Fridays I work till 11PM. Serves a well kept pint of Banks's (original) MILD. Last week it had Banks's Chocolate MILD brewed specially for "MILD in May" if only this rich dark MILD was available all year round it would be so heavenly.

This is the only Banks's pub that will get top marks from me. Tony the gaffer keeps the best pint of Banks's MILD (aka Original to the uninitiated) in the Wolvo area. There is a real skill and art in keeping MILD and Tony has that skill and dedication.
Many publicans can't be bothered prefering to sell the eurofizz chemicals to the dim proles.
On tap today when I called in the Pyle Cock was a lovely pint of Banks's Chocolate MILD 4.2% brewed for MILD in May month.
Just shows W&D breweries can do it when they try.
Food wise - the best traditional pub style cobs anywhere still served in the Pyle Cock. I can still taste em!

Remeber the motto and do as we do: NO MILD WALK OUT.
But doesn't apply at the Pyle Cock.

Ten out of Ten.
