I've got to agree with some of the comments below. This is a typical, sterile, Greene King 'Olde English Inns' outlet. Yes when you enter you walk into a glass 'lobby'. The place is an out and out eating house. It serves the usual GK offerings. I had the Old Speckled Hen, it was very good. Would I visit again? Maybe if I were passing, but I wouldn't go out of my way.

I remember when it was a proper pub with a restaurant upstairs and a buffet salad bar downstairs. The landlord used to be pals with Brian Adams in Southampton and get quite a crowd in. Always a tailback at the hockley lights and great place to go for sunday lunch. Is it part of a chain now? Im back in Winchester in March and looking up some old haunts.

It's seldom I leave a pub without buying a beer - but I did here.
The overall impression was of a hotel reception area - such a backward step from the original, charismatic pub. Zero ambiance.

Plastic grimness. Peroni baloney is 4.20 !!! I suppose they've got to pay for the crss refit somehow ...

hahah some good reviews and not much to add. All the cheezy glintz is inside this one, leatherette sofas etc- its a Greene King of course, and it shows. More astonishing is the fact that there was noone in there by 10 on a saturday night, the epitome of the southern pub experience. What do people do in Kings Worthy? All watch SKY + I guess...The few patrons looked petrified as their faces were illuninated in the bizarre Interrogation lamps perched above the bar- probably to keep you away from the humourless and unfriendly female staff. Crass.

4.10 for a pint of Italy's equivalent to Tesco's own premium lager? You've got to be havin a laugh, mine host.

This is a real gem of a pub! Fantastic interior with beam and lots of different corners and seating areas. All clean and tidy after fairly recent tasteful refurbishment. Food menu is excellent too, nice mix of nibbles and main courses. Great vegetarian options and extensive wine list. Can't wait to go back. They also have a function room with skittle alley - what a better place for a party or company meeting!

It's vastly improvement since it changed hands, but there's still a touch of the Alan Partridge about it.

Please be prepared for a sensory overload of Pringle jumpers and people who don't quite know where the countryside begins. Laughable if it wasn't so sad.

Awful. Awful. Awful.
