We were walking from the coast to the beacon and down intyo the town. A warm, dog friendly welcome and the best breakfast we have had for a long time. The st austell hsd was spot on. Fotgive me, I am on my holidays :-)

Had a great evening here. Fabulous food, one of the best meals out I'd had in a long time... freshly cooked inspired specials menu. Good selection of local beer and wines too. Landlord and staff all friendly and welcoming, thoroughly recommended.

Excellent pub - landlord welcoming and friendly without being overbearing, nice beer and cider. Landlord (who is fairly new I think) also sorted us food not on menu due to my wife's dietary needs. I suspect if I'd seen it of an evening too I'd have rated it even higher. Give the bloke some custom if you are ever down this way

My local. St. Austell beer has improved alot in recent years since the arrival of head brewer Roger Ryman. The Aggie has suffered a bit recently due to changes of licencee but a good pub in my opinion.

Right at the heart of the village in many senses and opposite the church. Settling down after upheavals at the end of 2003. A tied house (St Austell Breweries) so never my favourite on the beer front, and no guest ales. Food is reliable if sometimes a bit expensive. It does have a no smoking room. It's best feature is that it looks and feels like a real living local, with a bit kitschy decor, which is exactly what it is.
