Nicely converted cinema building, very close to the MetroLink tram terminus. Usual good Weatherspoons choice of real ales, with marginally quicker service (late lunchtime on a weekday) than one usually gets at such establishments!

went in on a thursday lunchtime was busy even by jd wetherspoons standards had a good pint of phoenix spotland then a greene king abbot reserve.the pub being near the new rochdale interchange station made it handy for bus travel

A coffee at eighty nine pence. Your humble narrator was rather pleased at the price.

Lovely old Cinema now converted into a 'spoons.
As previously said by Sithehatwearer, the atmosphere as you would expect was pretty non-existent if you took all of the well behaved Oldham fans out of the pub as apart from a large contingent there was not many others in.
Good selection of ales as you come to expect in the 'spoons, the pint I had was a very good.
Nice large building , just lacking any atmosphere.

Decent beer (and Marcle Cider), decent food, clean toilets.
But its a Spoons and, like most of them, has the atmosphere of a Motorway Service Station on Pluto.

Efficient service and a good selection of cask ales in this Wetherspoon pub. For such a spacious building it is surprisingly cosy.

Large, ex art deco cinema which has been tastefully updated. Friendly staff, good food, clean loos. Well worth a return visit...

A very good Wetherspoons pub with a wide range of real ales, including Ruddles Best and Pendle's Witches Brew. Plenty of room, even on a busy Saturday night.
|
Obvious Wetherspoons from outside, old cinema converted to large pub. Bar staff were very friendly and helpful. 8 real ales available. Building has art deco interior. Seemed a popular choice for locals, even on a weekday.

Still going from strength to strength especially during the beer festival. 8 Festival beers on at any one time with a real mix of styles. Much better than the last festival under the old management when they only ever had a couple of the festival beers on. Keep it going guys, up another point for me.

Now under new management. I believe the new manager used to manage the JDW in Huddersfield. Has certainly started to turn this pub around. Called in for a couple on Sarturday, George Wright Cheeky Pheasant and Hook Norton Double Stout. Both well kept and we had no problem getting served as there were plenty of bar staff on (Yes, really, in a Wetherspoons). I'm going to have to up my rating to a 6 for now. Likely to go higher if the upwards trend continues.

Dodgy bouncer that tried to beat my mate up so I wouldn't go back. Was far better as a cinema.
