Mum had her reception here pub is small, but intimate1 local joke is it is a good place to take your mistress! get a lot of couples in here during the afternoon that seem like they are sneaking out!! even the locals metion it form time to time! Food is generaly good, go with a friend though locals not very talkative like they are at pubs like the Waggon and Horses in Gravely.

We went for Sunday lunch yesterday. The food was really yummy and we will most definitely be going back again!

The pub is very outdated. New owners but the Food is very very poor.

I have now visited this pub on several occasions and I have to say that each time I have been met with a very friendly welcome from the new tenants Deb and Scott. The selection of ales is great as is the food. I would highly recommend the ham and eggs and the sunday roast. If you want a real village atmosphere visit this pub. You will not be disappointed!

Vry nice pub, good food, good selection of ale, reasonably sized car park, friendly welcome in a small picturesque village.
Down side is it's too far away to be my local.

Really good Abbot ale and although we didn't eat, the food coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled very nice.

Good pub. Cosy and comfortable.

The shoes is a perfect example of a village pub. good food, good beer and good company. They have a pool table and darts board which is located upstairs so the players don't disturb the drinkers (and vice versa) as well as additional seating and outside seating. The shoes really is a nice place to go to for a drink, a chat and a good evening. I recently met up with some school friends there and it served as the perfect setting for it. The landlady and landlord are nice people and the average customer is polite and talkative.

Again I am mistaken: there is just wide-screen TV in the bar, and not SKY.

Very well kept Abbot and IPA ; There is now wide screen sky sports TV in the bar ; also great bench joinery of sixteenth century. The landlord is jokes corner
