Nice location for Watford. Small green in front of the pub puts some nice distance between it and the road. Just GK IPA & London Pride on when I went in but it's a nice little pub, though it doesn't seem to do food, there was certainly none available when we went at lunchtime on Tuesday.

Update! The Royal Oak has recently been taken over by new managemen so all the previous comments are no longer relevant. The Royal Oak to date is one of the nicest pubs in Bushey. Friendly atmosphere and providing great wines ales and lagers. Providing live entertainment weekly. The beer garden is simply beautiful with a new playing area for children and seating for the families.
The pub provides good wholesome food as the Thai restaurent part is no longer. The pub also puts on festival events, check it out from the 16th -18th of October......big musical event and it's free for all. Nice seating at the front and all new seating internally. The present management have gone out of their way to make this pub a worth while place to visit.

Traditional, friendly pub with real ales and Cask Marque accreditation. A few wooden tables out front and a beer garden at the rear. Restaurant area that specialises in Thai food I think.

Was once a nice quiet booze & chat pub. Now sadly it has huge plasma screens and seems over-run with children and dogs and "Ingerland" attitude. The thai food was very good, however, the back of the pub is a very odd contrast to the front.

visited the pub today (St Georges Day)..fair play to them they are the only pub in the area that have done something to celebrate Englands day. The landlord & Landlady were extremely friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be going back there. Beer was good too. Cant wait to pay them a visit on a summers afternoon when we will take advantage of their superb looking garden bar

I love this pub and have done since i visited last year. The landlord & lady have made loads more changes with Thai food now on, as well as a few other things that i have been told will be in place by the summer. As i am not a young one anymore, i like to relax and enjoy a drink and meal with my family, and this is the places that has been liked by my 4 grown up kids, and other family members. I would tell everyone that this place is the one to go to for trouble free, nice happy night.

I went to the re-opening of this pub on 24/02/07, and found it to be very nice place. I have been back since to try the new Thai food, and 10/10 for one of the best meals i have had out for a long time. The only thing was the state of the gent's as the floor was flooded, but was told by landlady that it has been an on going problem, but they are having a refurb in the wc's and that should make it better. But would say that they are clean. i now go there every other friday with my wife for a meal, and find it one of the best in Bushey.

I went to this pub on Halloween and what an experience. I have not had such a good time for ages, I took my kids there for the party and they had a fab time and walked away with so much sweets and toys they have not stopped talking about it, I then took them home and came back for the evening entertainment of there band and buffet, and it was fabulous. If Katey and Alistair keep this up, it will be the best place to go for a great night hassle free, and all customers and staff are very nice. I LOVE THE ROYAL OAK

I guess I'm one of the few people that think it's gone down hill since the old manager left. Sure it was a pretty quiet, boring place but was good if you fancied a quiet, decent beer and it wasn't trying to be something it wasn't.
They used to do Sunday roasts too, much better than the ones you get now.

Another visit and another good time. Ali and Katie have really worked hard and hopefully its starting to pay off. Pity the lovely Nikita has moved on.

Nice to see that a few more people are re-visiting, hopefully word will get around and this pub can get the rating it deserves! Think I may have to visit again myself!

This pub is under new management and they are doing a fantastic job. Every other Friday is Karaoke and the last one I went to was a really fun night. They have introduced many new drinks including various shots and cocktails for the more crazier nights (great for when needing the courage to sing). I hear they now do a Sunday roast as well which is supposed to be good. This is a great pub with always a very warm welcome that seems to be getting better and better with the new owners.

Went again last night, still think its one of the best in Bushey. Proper pub, good location

This pub is now under new management and they are doing a great job. Always a warm welcome, very friendly. New plasma TV, new food menu, and best of all for me Red Stripe on draught. Also, kids are allowed plus dogs on leads. Something for everyone.
|
Food ok, bit over priced though for what it is.
