A detour from the ticking list as it’s almost opposite the Lewes Arms and there was no reason not to stop here.
The Lamb is an absolute cavernous pub & live music venue but it was pretty empty apart from the 7 of us that turned up en-mass
The bar runs the length of the pub on the left as you enter. 4 pumps which were serving Dark star Hophead, Greene King’s Olde trip and Abbot. Not fancying any of these beers I looked to the bottle selection & went for a bottle of Brooklyn Lager.
Large outdoor area towards the back and a small cosy area the other side of the fireplace.
An okay pub but more of a music venue I guess.

No review for a couple of years - during which period I've called in a few times. VERY quiet; usually I was the only customer.

Recently taken over by a lovely guy, really knows his stuff! The Lamb is well on it's way back to it's heyday! Best selection of rum, and the rest, in town!

This place seems different each time I visit. It used to have two young women behind the bar (a year or two back) and they were nice and friendly. Now it seems to have lost its way. Good pint of cider though.

Bit of a barn of a place with wooden floors, exposed brickworks and minimal dcor. Minimal customers as well on my visit, I was the only person in on a Monday lunchtime, I suspect its more of an evening venue. Two ales on, Olde Trip and Tom Woods.

An average pub with a young crowd. Fantastic selection of rum.

I visited this place on Sunday and I thought churches were worried about attendances.

Having been there on a weekend myself fairly recently, i now expect nothing other than rude and intimidating chavs to be 'serving' behind the bar, although a swift turn around is needed desperately. No rush though, I wont be returning, I went for a pint and left offended, skint and embarrassed. nothing beats a first great impression eh? I'll be sticking to the Lansdown & the Ele

there r these really attractive bar people, they normally work weekends, the guys really tall and the girl is well cool, definatly worth a look just 4 them!

Wonder why your pub is empty at lunchtime? Maybe its the miserable, rube barman listening to loud rap music. I joined the other (very few) customers outside for a pint then went to the Lewes Arms. I can't think what posessed me to suggest the Lamb in the first place!

went in last sunday for a roast, and i was pleasantly suprised at how good it was. stacks of meat, plenty of roasties and a big bowl of veg, and all for 7. WOW!!! the place was packed wih people all eating, which just goes to prove how good the food is.

Depending on the time of day (and day of the week) this place is either empty and soulless or full of noise and kids. Changing the menu won't change the sort of people who go there on a Friday night. As for the beer, it's Greene King. Enough said.

The Lamb appears to be shaking its bad image. A new chef has gone in and changed the menu with the emphasis on locally sourced ingredients using local suppliers. The staff are very friendly and the beer seems to be ok which is always a good thing. Definitely worth a visit when the new menu goes live in the next couple of weeeks
