Now part of the wetherspoons chain and lloyds no1 bar, 'the robert william loosley' - wetherspooons food menu's the same as always, nice and familiar. also a lovely huge bar with enough staff working it, so not waiting too long for drinks But with the nicest decor and seating in the whole of high wycombe. Looks lovely and has set off since oppening a few weeks ago with a really good atmosphere and vibe, lets hope it stays that way!

Used to love this pub but it lost its charm last year sometime, Just starting to get it back now, taken a while though. The town need a normal pub that doesnt blast the music every night and that you can just relax in.

This used to be a really good pub but I went back a few weeks ago and I was shocked at how poor it has become. Given its size and ability to offer drink promotions it really should be one of the best pubs in Wycombe but there is a complete lack of any atmosphere whatsoever. Its like a big youth club that needs a good clean. There are bits of the ceiling missing, big dirty stains on the walls, the toilets are a state and the bar is constantly sopping wet. One redeeming feature is that it doesn't and never has had doormen and there is never any trouble. Which goes to show that town centre pubs don't need them and often they cause trouble rather than prevent it. Before anyone commnets I have worked as a doorman at nightclubs and fully support their use at that type of venue, but pubs just don't need them. I am genuinely disappointed at the plight of this pub and have only bothered to write this in the hope that someone associated with the Hogshead reads it and takes some sort of action.

since my last post back in September the place has gone down hill big time. Extremely incompetent bar staff who are also extremely arrogant. Nasty place. Think it will probably close down soon and be rebranded a slug an dlettuce seeing as all the other hogsheads in the area are!(Marlow & Aylesbury)

This place used to be great. Bar staff were brilliant, service was quick and the atmosphere was great. However, since the new management has come in the place has gone steadily downhill, all the new bar staff are incompetent, takes ages to get served and they seem to have stopped showing any sports other than football. The only reason i would go back here is for the half price drinks on a Monday night.

how is this a great venue it's dirty you have to wait ages to get served the staff are miserable.you re right when you say it is cheap - cheap & nasty.i have been a student here for two years and would drink in the tree or the antelope and even the falcon before coming to this joke of a pub!!

Great venue, always something going on. Quiz nights, Poker League on a Thursday. Friendly bar staff and the beer is cheap!

Have to disagree. Lively place, good to go for a few drinks if you're on a night out.
Pool tables, Tv's, jukies, and decent priced beer. Never had a bad experience there yet.
7.5/10

Bright lighting. A view of Bridge Street car park. An upstairs that's never open and the worst colour scheme ever deliberately chosen. Not a good venue.
