My wife and I used to eat hear a lot on a Saturday after braving nearby Asda. Hadn't been for a few years but popped in with a couple of mates in November 2012, as one of them was about to fly out of Luton Airport.
Pub was busy but staff very friendly, the regulars were polite. As it was a Saturday and they now do live music, a band was setting up. Plenty of nice looking real ales and the usual lagers etc. Quite comfy seating, buzzing but in no way threatening atmosphere.

I like this pub and it's inhabbitants, well most of them at least.
The landlord is certainly a chirpy chappy who incidentally supports Manchester City. The barmaids are always very helpful and provide fantastic entertainment on the charity disco evenings.
The Sports bar is very welcoming and has a fatastic jukebox. Oh yes, I have spent many an evening listening to he delights of The Jam and all those other hip new Kids. On Sunday's I have met with a number of the local football team, I forget their name now, but they are most positive and a pleasure to share the odd piece of banter with. I believe their team song is Lee Marvin's I was born under a wandrin star. That is what we hear them sing on teir way into the pub.
The lounge bar is frequesnted by locals who often sing at karaoke evenings. Oh what fun they are.
The Beer is very good, especially the ales, and the food is well renowned for being good value for money. I have passed my compliments onto the chef many times. She is very friendly and always happy to say Hi.
I think this is a very honest review and I would certainly recommend it to anyone who is in the area.

Considering that it's a Lutonian estate pub, and the "Sports Bar" (frequented by the local lock-stock-geezer ragamuffins) is best avoided, the lounge bar presents what remains a decent enough local boozer. Ale as good as anywhere you'll get in Luton (outside HighTown) and an atmosphere which, although "friendly" might be pushing it a bit, is generally non-threatening.
If this sounds like damning with faint praise, it isn't. The Wigmore is alright.

As many have said this i a Big estate pub,
Problem with that is you get too much agro from some of the so called locals. I Tried the food but found that it was a bit over cooked and took over 35 mins to arrive.
lucky there is a chippy and large supermarket only yards away.

Newly refurbed, however the same chav atmosphere.
Food isn't very good, staff are unhelpful.

Love this pub.. foods lovely, steaks always cooked just right, and now they've spend money on it and had a refurb it looks fantastic..

Estate pub, Good selection of real ales, unfortunately bar staff lack the knowledge to serve one of these good selection of real ales properly. I agree it is a magnet for the local chav element. I won't be using this pub on a regular basis.

Food's OK and decent selection of beer. Nice enough atmosphere in 'food side' and friendly staf throughout.
'Sports Bar' does seem to be a magnet for the local chav element!

Big estate pub. Used to be high on the Luton Festive Stabbing Incident League Tables but, in my experience, though the place (and clientele) is undeniably rough and ready, its never as bad as it looks. The ale tends to be surprisingly good too.
I wouldn't recommend the games room though - anywhere the local chav youth are encouraged to wield pool cues is best avoided.

Food and beer are quite acceptable, and the sports bar has a big screen. But it tends to get very crowded and smoky when there is a big sporting event on, and service can be very slow. Good number of pool tables, but some of the locals are the sort who can ruin an otherwise pleasant evening out - but that's hardly uncommon in Luton. Summary - ok pub, better during the day than in the evening.
