Lovely traditional pub. Two prpoper ales on offer, Breakspeare and Spitfire and both well kept. I just hope these sort of pubs survive.

Traditional backstreet local - dartboard on one side and TV on the other. Only two ales available yesterday, but judging by the pump clips displayed there's a big throughput of different beers. Splendid pub dog too.

Update on the vic.......... it is now under new ownership and appears to be continuing to do quite well. The new owner is an ex copper.

After not being in there since 1999 and remembering how great it was as a locals boozer I was surprised to find that it's just got better! Great pub, great beer, great night out.

I think the new landlord took a massive gamble in taking on this, off the beaten track pub; But having visited it several times over the past year or so, I think the gamble is paying dividends. The landlord and he's mrs are very sociable and friendly, The beer's good and reasonably priced, And he's building up a nice regular client base thank you very much. The problem nowadays is, That if you can find a nice little pub out of the eyes of the roving chavs, youv'e cracked it; Because soon pubs for the locals will be soon gone forever; So the Benefits will go to the last man standing.

THIS PUB IS ONE OF YOUR OLD FASHIONED STYLE OF PUBS (A DRINKING MANS PUB) A GOOD AND FRIENDLY LANDLORD. ALL PEOPLE ARE WELCOME. AND WELL WORTH A TRIP TO SAMPLE THE BEERS
