Mixed bag of customers but very pleasant. Nice drop of Joules Pale Ale, Horse Racing on on TV and Footie on the other. Nice place and ales!

visited again yesterday. Beer excellent. Horse racing fanatics in the bar ensure that Saturday afternoons are really atmospheric

Bass on hand pump, as good as it gets. Of course, Bass is only average these days, with all the wonderful micro breweries about. But it was good.
Its just as boozers used to be if it hadnt been for the bloody T.V. tuned to Classic One, doing its best to stop all social intercourse.
Went to the toilets and, WOW ! Look at the ceramic tiling on the floor and in the other bars. Its as old as the pub and in perfect condition. Get it listed, PLEASE !

A great pint in here if you're a real ale fan. The pub has a good friendly atmosphere.

Again a lovely pint of Bass - also London Pride and that strong beer from Moorhouses, which my friends enjoyed. Don't always agree with CAMRA but they have got this one right - PUB OF THE MONTH for December. Get down and enjoy. Actually don't believe me read their local rag - 'Potters Bar'

Not been in for a while - it seems now that they have settled down to a cracking pint of Bass [as always] and always two but varying guest ales. Enjoyed very much

An additonal beer tonight - well I have spent the best part of a week in Germany and may have missed it earlier - if you haven't tried Hound Dog from Exmoor Brewery I think it is very good

Last night they had Pedigree as well as Bass

Last night they also had 'London Pride' - I think I tried perhaps one too many !

The 'modernisation' has been done very sympathetically. 'The Staff' is a typical small Stoke pub with loads of atmosphere. Darts four nights a week, active dominoes and crib teams also. Nice Bass and Guinness and a variety of others ales. There ia always good service from a variety of characters
