Black Horse, Windsorback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Very much a local's pub in a town not noted for community pubs. At lunch times it's frequented by pensioners drawn to the excellent, extensive and very reasonably price menu. In the evenings it's very much a ladz football pub when it's being shown on the three TV's. Don't let this put you off. This is a great community boozer opposite Tesco.
Beer is reasonably priced for the area and always in good nick.
Landlord is a real east end character when he's around, otherwise his friendly staff run the show.

I visited The Black Horse for the first time last Saturday with two other people. The food was excellent. There was a wide choice, generous portions, the salad was fresh & varied. The food is fantastic value for money, & I would confidently recommend this pub to anyone. There is a nice comfortable family atmosphere, the staff are brilliant, & they even had one of my favorite wines, Wairau Sauvignon blanc. Just one complaint, why no Chardonnay? I will certainly be making return visits, & recommending to others.

Impeccably kept London Pride.Pretty much a regulars' pub.Not the most welcoming establishment. It is the best pub in the area. However, looking at the dire opposition, that's not much of an accolade.

Good pub, Pride and Doom Bar on hand pump, the Doom was on good form, prices were cheap compared to London, and the service spot on. Dog friendly in the evening. Will return when in the area again.
