Red Lion Inn, Jackson Bridgeback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
I was sent here from the White Horse, that's currently closed looking for a new leaseholder. It turned out to be a great recommendation. 4 real ales, 3 of them from the north. Extensive food menu - especially in the evening when traditional Australian dishes are available. (Yes really!) And not only are the staff friendly, but so are the regular customers.

Me and my husband stayed on new years with my family , even though the pub was cosy and the people really freindly and yes the r&b music did give everyone a migraine the rooms were awful, the beds were comfy but the rooms were cold, coffee anything from 2 to 10 months out of date as was the milk, couldnt have a shower because the shower head was blocked , the shower itself was filthy , in my mums rooms there was even mould in the kettle , this pub obviously does not have many guests and now we no why .certainly would not stay there again .

Spent the night for New Year. No breakfast next day 5 pound reduction for 2. Shower in room held together with black gaffer tape not safe to use. Shower head has black wet mouldy stuff in the holes. Obviously not used for some time. Asked for extra coffe and milk for room making facilities. Coffee was between 2 and ten months out of date and the milk was out of date in August obviously don't have many visitors. Daughters shower head had one hole free to release water. Evening meal was very nice but very small. Very friendly pub in regards locals and guy behind the bar ,never actually spoke to the landlord at all. The new entertainment was R & B boogie woogie night INTERESTING top say the least but prone to giving head aches afters 4-5 hours making going to bed interesting too. Been there seen it but unlikely to return

Called in the other evening and really enjoyed the Copper Dragon beer on handpump. There were also several other real ales. Pleasant outdoor drinking area - close to road but not much traffic. Very friendly locals - good conversation on a wide variety of topics (from nuclear power to educational standards)! Not tried the food but it looks OK.
