Forgot the place is licensed for weddings, add this to a hen party and the good weather it was a case of two halves for us - Kelham Island Easy Rider and Ossett Blonde and moving swiftly on.

Busy with families as it was the school holidays, but generally ok. Good selection of local ales, went for Peak Bakewell Best Bitter which was pretty good. Awesome Pizza menu.

Passing this pub,Me and the Wife got caught in a big downpour,so we went in this pub,and am I glad we did.A great Friendly welcome,A perfect pint of Real Ale and the place was spotlessly clean. It was a pity the rain had to stop

The Fishpond is hosting the Matlock and Dales Annual CAMRA Beer Festival on 8 and 9 August which we visited yesterday. 40 different brews available – all from local micros – and it is an excellent selection to suit all tastes.
The Fishpond's food is top notch. My friends and I had a brilliant time there yesterday afternoon – in spite of being drenched by a sudden tropical storm! The Fishpond staff were all great.

Visited here on a recommendation. Very wide, varied ale selection seemingly well kept, and although nothing at all wrong with it the place is just a bit sterile for me. Personal preference and all that! Probably won't rush back. 6.

Called in recently after visiting an exhibition of wildlife photography at the Pavilion and being handed a voucher offering free tea at the 'Pond, which is situated directly opposite. What a transformation. The potential for a really thriving pub in Matlock Bath has always been there and now it has been fulfilled - in spades. The whisper is that the owner has spent well over a million doing the old place up and is now investing more to launch a new restaurant upstairs. Imaginative range of ales, mostly locally sourced, extremely cheerful and helpful bar staff and - a new one on me - superb craft-baked fresh bread from their own kitchens on sale at the bar. The old "function room" is now serving for regular gigs by what I am reliably led to believe is a very good standard of local artists/bands. Bravo. A very impressive addition to an area not over-blessed with aappealing boozers.

Visited recently, in course of being refurbished. Beers excellent had two Ashover brewery beers Light Rale & Turning Stone

I don't see why this pub is listed with all the other pubs in Bath, Somerset, when it is miles away in Derbyshire.
|
Nice enough pub. Had a nice pint of Harvest Pale when in recently but was informed new owners were due soon.
|
Decent real ales available. Roaring real fire not out of place on a cool June evening. I thought it was OK - quite friendly and some decent music being played.
|
Fine to sit outside, with a good pint, but a smells like a bit of a Vinegar Joes chippy inside.
|
Great little pub which gets VERY busy in the summer months.
|
It re-opened again, Summer 2009. Live bands on many nights. Bikers' night is Thursday.
|
Reported to be closed in the latest CAMRA newsletter.
