St Austell pub tucked away from the station down a side street that on my Sunday lunchtime visit was pretty empty.
2 ales on the 3 hand pumps, Tribute (on 2 pumps), the pint of HSD I had was very drinkable.
Friendly welcome from the manager who I spent quite a bit of time talking to.
Music playing softly, fruit machine and a pool table in the back room along with a dart board.
A decent pub that is worth a visit.

I've been in many worse than this. Beer (St Austell) always OK when I've been in. If you're looking for somewhere not too far from the station (or bus stop) then try this one. Note it opens at 11 a.m.

A bit dissapointed with this pub really, thought it might have had a bit more character inside than it did. My pint of Carlsberg was a good one, although expensive at 3.30
5/10

St. Austell pub close to the railway station. Seemed more of a locals pub than for tourists. Tribute and HSD available on first visit over the weekend. Both pints well kept and acceptable. On two return visits just HSD available which is not ideal as a session beer at 5% abv. Friendly landlady. 60's / 70's CD music kept us entertained during a lunch time visit. Pool table at the rear of the pub. Strong smell of bleach on one lunch time visit somewhat off putting.

Our train trip to Teignmouth took us to our 1st pub of the day. A Locals pub that welcomed us with a crowd of smokers in the doorway. horse racing on tv's behind the bar was a strange one. We had a pint of St Austell beer. Beer was good it was company that put us off.

Popped in last Friday after a long train journey. Pleasant pub which also allowed a child within our company, to enter.

Took a trip out to Teignmouth recently and the Brass Monkey is as good, if not better than ever. Very nice drop of HSD, the place seems cleaner and lighter now that the smokers are all outdoors. If you've invested in a Devon and Cornwall Railcard it's only a couple of pounds return from Exeter, so it makes a good alternative to some of the Exeter pubs as it's only about a minute from the station - as long as the Last Great Western trains are running reasonably to time.

great little pub with well kept HSD,seems to be more for the locals than the tourist

One of the few St Austell pubs in Devon. Usually 3 real ales on tap, including HSD (which seems to be getting harder to find nowadays). Has a large screen TV & is Cask Marque so the beer should be in good condition. A nice, friendly pub. If I lived in Teignmouth I'd make it my local.
