OK for what it is.
The small range of beers are fine and the food meets expectations.
Staff are friendly and on the ball.
There's plenty of car parking.

It seems this pub has had a recent modernisation and is clean and efficient. We visited the pub on three occassions in August 2009, the first two of which were very rewarding. The menu is simple, but the food is better than a lot of the average pub grub. Two women were running the busy bar and food orders with synergy (but when the blokes had the job on our third visit, it was less efficient). If the new decor had not included the axminster carpet, but a wooden and stone floor instead, then the overall ambience of the pub would probably be better fitting its proximity to Rock. 4/5 as a pub in our opinion.

one for the locals rather than the holiday trade. though friendly enough (no-one seemed to mind when my wife and I enjoyed a vey poor quality game of darts).
not a place for the Islington set, though, they should continue onto Rock.

This has to be the worst place | have ever eaten in. This is the first time I have written a report which may show how I feel. All the food was appalling - the poor people who have taken over cannot cook and the people they employ have no clue either. They were rude to another family who went in because not all the family had a meal. The curry they served up was boiled meat with a teaspoon of curry powder. The only saving grace was they did not charge for the dish. They will not last so wait until some new people take over.
