Passed the pub yesterday to see a sign announcing 'Pub to Let' displayed prominently at the front.

Called in today around lunchtime as I had a little time to wait for a bus, but found the pub was closed and the door locked. Does anybody know why?

Six beers on offer, split between the two bars. GK and Deuchars IPA, Morland Original, Ruddles County, Boltmaker and Landlord. Quality food, although above average price.

I was in Watton last summer, and had a couple of pints in the Bull I could hear loud pop music coming from the G & D, which put me off visiting.
I was told by a couple of customers in the Bull , that the G & D were catering for the twenty somethings !
How this will work out is anybody's guess.
The G & D is a nice old village pub for older people , not a teen hangout.

I had a nice pint of Old Hooky here last night, while my chum had a Red Stripe and a Staropramen. Although this pub majors on food, and from what I saw the food looked pretty good, it is still somewhere you can enjoy a pint.

Primarily yet another eatery but it does have a bar area that at least resembles a pub bar. Four ales on... Lancaster Bomber was okay as was the headbanging Old Crafty Hen.

Have used the pub a couple of times for lunches and have been surprised by how busy it can be (for a relatively small village). Nice relaxed atmosphere and good food.

We had a great Sunday lunch 10.50 for adults and 5.00 for kids, the portions were huge, it was good quality and very tasty. The place is very cosy and homely. But guys loose the place mats and claret paper napkins in the wine glasses its a bit old fashioned and cheesy. That said I'll be back for lunch. Its great value for money.

This pub is the brewery version of M&S.
Once good, but still hanging onto a faded reputation! The food used to be good quality and value for money, not any more.!

Pete who ran this pub has just moved to the golden fleece at braughing. the new owners used to run the george some time ago, i think. it's been a very good pub/restaurant, i hope it remains so.

Popped in here purely by accident. New Years day, packed to the gills - had various real ales such as rocking rudolph and various others. The staff were very friendly and the food was great and of a high standard. It really was one of those lovely village pubs with a great atmosphere welcoming to kids, and nice real wood fires. Made me look at the property prices here was so damned nice - mmm

Fantastic pub for food, the best in the area, you'll need to book if you want to sit in the restaurant, however you can just turn up and get a table in the bar, but be warned there are only 11 tables in the bar and they get filled up by about 7.15 so arrive early. It's not cheep but well worth it for a special occassion.

Came here after a Ladies Football Match, small but nice pub. Enjoyed the meatballs they served here.

A really nice pub,has a proper local feel whilst still being welcoming and is a nice spot to just drink, eat(Food very good) and be merry for a while. Have only visited during the summer but is very atmospheric and would possibly be seen to even better advantage in the winter months.

Really nice pub with character and a cosy atmosphere. My family and I had a reasonably priced Sunday lunch, which was delicious. The real ales are good too.

Good food served efficiently in a pub with character. In the summer garden is excellent
|
Above averae pub with an unfortunately small selection of decent beer. I thought the food was fairly good though, about average prices for what it is. Good in the winter with the log fire.
|
A very nice pub - even has a petanque pitch in the garden. Unfortunately, the good quality beer is on the expensive side.
|
A pub with a restaurant that serves standard pub food at very inflated prices.
