Bullers Arms, Chagfordback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Pub now reopened and renamed the Chagford inn.
There is nothing wrong with this pub but it is however probably the least atmospheric pub in the town.
Drinks were fine and seating was ok, just preferred the other places nearby.

Pub closed and boarded up.

Visited Sunday lunchtime. Still closed at five past twelve. Went back five minutes later and it was open but no sign of any staff or customers. Waited five minutes and still saw no staff so I gave up. Funny way to run a pub. Shame because as my previous review says it was my favourite pub in Chagford

This is my favourite pub in Chagford and in my opinion the only real local. Friendly staff, good beer and good home cooked food at a reasonable price

My wife and I have stayed at the Bullers Arms on numerous occasions over the past three years and have always been happy with the service, food and accommodation which has been updated and redecorated within the last year.
With regard to the 2008 review by Roydy, I would suggest that if he didn't want a fried breakfast, he should not have requested one. I always have a fried breakfast when I stay at the Bullers and have always found it to be most acceptable. However, there are plenty of alternatives available. You only have to ask!
As for the accommodation, this is a traditional village pub and in the days it was built dampcourses didn't exist. Perhaps a Travel Lodge would have suited him better.

It really saddens me to say this as the staff at the Bullers Arms are very friendy. I stayed in the ground floor bedroom with my girlfriend and as we walked in were greeted with the smell of damp. The smell was very overpowering and originated from the bathroom which was in a very poor state with an old suit, dated tiles and black mouldy silicon round the shower. A member of staff explained that the damp was due to the heavy rain they had experienced recently. I think not as this was rising penetrating damp that had been left to fester for years. The decor in the room was also very tired and dated with fading yellow walls, black mould and pine furniture. The blue carpet was very worn and freyed at the edges. It was that bad we tried to look for alternative accomodation however everywhere in Chagford was full that weekend so we were stuck. In the morning we ordered a full english breakfast and yet again we were very disappointed. Everything was deep fried, sausages, bread, mushrooms, potatoes and it was clear that the oil in the fryer needed changing - HEARTBUSTER CORONARY BREAKFAST! It's such a shame that the owners have got this so wrong. Cooking a tasty healthy breakfast is easy. Complacancy has set in and the rot is rising. I will never go back there again or recommend it to friends. I would be very surprised if the Bullers evere got any repeat B&B business. Bullers wake up and pull your fingers out you could be sat on a goldmine!
