boarded up and being converted into a house. dont locals round here give a toss about local historic buildings? now no one except some rich snoot who ends up living there can go in the oldest building in the village. and no doubt they wont care about community or anything else.

Boarded upand unlikely to reopen - shame!!
|
Passed by today and noticed it was closed and boarded up, shame!
|
the swan has recently been reopened, and thank god for that, most of the staff and management are fantastic , it will be even better when they get up and running properly, but thanks for giving us our pub back
|
The Pub is all boarded up!!! Do not know if this mean permanently or just for a re-fit, but it looks pretty terminal to me...
|
Have to disagree, food is OK, not the best but acceptable and the beer is very good

I never knew pub food could be SO bad these days. This place simply serves the WORST food I have ever attempted to eat in a pub. Even the worst transport cafe in the land would not serve up food this poor. Wish I'd seen the reviews on here before we eat there - totally agree with litovel. In fact if anything, over the past year it's got worse than he describes! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE.

This has gone really downhill, just take one look at the garden with the laden bins.Beer still ok ,but now not worth going out of your way for.

I don't quite understand why this pub has received such good reviews. I went there on a Saturday recently for lunch (for six). The dining room at the back, with views to the shabby outbuidings to the rear of the pub, is completely devoid of charm. Upon reading the menu, I had the impression of overpriced 'bog standard' pub food. I was not wrong. Someone took our order, then returned ten minutes later to take the menus. My food, and that of three fellow diners arrived cold. After emitting a monosyllabic grunt, the waiter returned these three dishes to the chef/microwave operator for reheating.
If you want overpriced microwaved food (which may not be hot), and salad leaves with brown bits on them, all served in a charmless pub, The Swan at Pimlico is your place. My advice, based purely on recent experience: DO NOT EAT IN THIS PUB.

Popped in the Swan today (Sunday 1st April 07) .... 1st time for ages and pleasantly surprised. Friendly bar staff (lass), and the London Pride in very drinkable condition. Big garden, Children friendly. Did not sample food, but will be back to try...

Beer always good, food excellent, staff great!

This is a good friendly pub ,I visit at lunchtimes now and again. The food and beer have always been good. The garden is handy if you have the brats with you too.

This is actually a really nice pub, i have been here twice now for family birthdays, where they laid on food for us in the hall at the back of the pub which was very nice. they have a massive garden which is great in the summer time ! all in all this is well worth a trip to.

Top notch really nice people behind the bar and the locals, food is great, will even put the telly on for the footy, darts, decent car park and garden, watch out for the Footy team boys that use it ;)

The Swan is highly rated for its restaurant by our international clients. The staff work as good friendly team without the big egos and bills that usually go with such high quality.
|
The Sunday Menu always seems to have at least one slightly different dish. Examples Swordfish, Partridge . Staff helpful. Portions generous. There are facilities for children in the large garden. Large car park. Bus stop immediately adjacent. I am not qualified to comment on the quality of the alchohol or value for money.
