A very disappointing pub on the main street in Blythe Bridge. Abbot & Bombardier were the two ales. The furniture all has Stoke City colours on it. Rugby was showing on the television. The local ATM at the Tesco's just up the road had been burgled, with police in attendance!

Perhaps the Gaypostman should make this his new destination pub instead of The Wenlock Arms, Hoxton ! A shame it's not in Welwyn, Herts.

Open and thriving.
Insise has been updated and opened up. Comfortable and friendly.
Real ales kept well.

I enjoyed the Black Cock. I was surprised by how big it was.

Licensees arent what I'd call warm natured and welcoming if your a stranger. I didnt even get a 'hello'. Pub looks nicer on outside than inside, horrible wallpaper and mismatched decor, more notices than you can read, you dont know where to look. Been, seen, done and sorry but 'not to return'.

I've been a regular in this pub for eight or nine years now. It changed hands in May 2007. The present landlady and landlord are very warm natured and welcoming. They run a brilliant little village pub with a good range of casque marque ales. This is a locals pub but new faces are given a warm and cheerful welcome by everyone. Food is always available and there is an acoustic club meeting on every Tuesday evening where all are welcome. There is a general knowledge quiz, every Sunday evening and a music quiz every Thursday evening, they are very well supported.

A little gem, well worth a visit.

The food and variety of ales were very good, but the owner appeared to be miserable and you get the impression that if you aren't 'yokle' then you aren't welcome to be honest. It's pokey and traditional if you like that sort of thing, but the service was awful quite frankly. I won't be going back, and I wouldn't advise anyone to visit it personally, at least not until the owner cheers up...

Peter and Pat have now left- end of a great era -or is it the beginning of a new one.

The scores will have to start over.

Wonderful pub. The proprietor made us feel welcome even though we where out of towners. The Sunday Lunch was great (Choice of Beef or Pork Roast) with all the trimmings. You can tell he cares about his customers and his reputation. the regulars in there are just as friendly and seem genuinely interested in you. Definitely stop by this pub if you are in town.

**Amazing Quality** of beer and food and a non-smoking pub now - before the July 2007 law.

There are around 5 regularly changing real ales to try. Most importantly there quality are usually as good as the master brewers requirements, of which most other pubs never reach!!

The pub food has true real value with extra special chunky chips,a large selection and also many tasty non-meat alternatives all home cooked carefully.

This small two roomed cosy pub has owners who care about your custom and welcome you in but do keep out undesirable customers to maintain this!

Its always warm so no coats required.

Book a meal there soon as this establishment is rare and we don't want it to close like the other two village pubs due to lack of support. Closed Tuesday.

My wife and me travel 2 miles past 4 other pubs to call this the local!!

We visited the Black Cock Inn on Sunday to meet a friend not seen for 49years.We were very pleased with the welcome we recieved from both landlord & landlady the beer was excellent and the food was even better.I can fully recomend the Sunday roast wich was a choice of roast beef or pork with all the trimmings.
Excellent is the word to use to decribe it.

This pub is now completely non smoking. A brave move which should be supported by all non smoking real ale drinkers.

The beer is still excellent especially Joules Priory and Camerons Bombardier.

Food is also excellent try the "two beef baps with roast potatoes and gravy" for 3.99!

Excellent out of town pub with an extremely good beer range. The landlord is a master of his art of cellar keeping. Food available in no smoking section lunchtimes and is very good value. highly reccommended for a friendly drink in a pleasant atmosphere.
