Visited on a Tuesday night and found to be lively and very smart - if you in the city centre, then it's fine, but if you want a selction of decent ales on the bar at good value, then it's one to walk past - it all depends on what mood you're in I guess.

Depends what you are after this one.
Ale and cider is a none starter. Cocktails and Vodka it is pretty spot on.
Word of advice, if you are going buy a Rev Card it saves you a fortune.
Gets very busy late on though.

Hate this pub. Its on the crawl and when you're on a mission you can't miss it. Every time I come out I feel as if i've been robbed. Very expensive. Am sure the bank that the building used to be probably still gives loans to pay for the round!!! Don't get me wrong i'm not adverse to spending cash but not in this pub. Its got no atmosphere and the people in there look to see who's looking at them. Not my shot of vodka!

Always heaving on a weekend, god knows why???? Yeah lovely old building but expensive and full of w**kers. Have to fight to get to the bar then wait for 10 mins as the bloke next to you orders a stupid cocktail. Run of the mill chain bar in a nice building which happens to be a good location. Poor!

When I was last in her all the staf seemed to think that all the customers where all called the sam name "Everything OK youse Guys?" Ok bar food and worth a stop off for the interior

Good at 5.00pm for a swift cockltail after work, but I wouldn't stay any longer. They do very nice food on a Sunday, with newspapers etc, We were in last weekend, and there was us and 4 others. Beautiful ceiling and columns.

It does exactly what it says on the tin-sells overpriced alcohol to people who don't know any better! Nice building(yes Stonch it was a Barclays Bank)though!

Once I was in here and a group of pissed primates came in and ordered champagne. It was served to them in an ice bucket. One lad decided to give his ape mate an ice bucket for a hat. Ice and water everywhere, the nervous staff offered one of gibbons a mop and bucket. It responded by throwing the mop over the bar at another member of staff, like a spear. And here's the thing: whilst they were spoiling my day somewhat, they had captured my feelings towards the bar staff perfectly. Rubbish. Fabulous building though.

Can't believe this is somehow in the top 40 "pubs". Spent a decent night here a couple of years back, but come on - its a chain bar and hardly a pub anyway. Its a large booming conversion of an impressive building of some sort (perhaps a bank?) serving the Revolution standard vodka cocktails etc. to get people utterly hammered so they can disgrace themselves. If that's what you want, be my guest. Though I do think it is slightly out of the way in terms of other bars and clubs in Newcastle.

Nice views...both of the building & the young ladies frequenting it!....Easy to flop into the seats-extremely hard to find your way back through the door after sampling the various beers & shorts!!

Mojito!!!

One of my favourite bars in Newcastle. Every kind of vodka possible is sold here, and at a decent price. Always full of chicks at night. Tends to get very busy and can be a bit of a nightmare getting served.

My second favourite revolution in the world... Great building, and location. Just shame about the slow staff (no surprise - it's a revolution...)

The superior bar of the city but without too much pretense (just enough to keep the commoners away!).
The gorgeous building, one of Newcastle's finest, hosts a fabulous drinking experience - beautiful staff, great music, and amazing drinks. Try the Russian Bride (their take on the White Russian) but ask for it with caramel or mint for an extra kick, you'll not be disappointed!
Ignore the people who say it takes ages to get served - you just need to maintain good eye contact with the bar staff and look pleasant and you'll get served promptly.
Good location near Central Station so it's not far to any other part of the city, though you'll probably do what I do and stay there til it closes at 1am!

Revolution - best bar in Newcastle, by far. Absolutely amazing building, interior decor (huge high ceilings and marble pillars) is top quality and good location for everything. Plenty of seating (lovely leather sofas and the like), and enough quieter more private little spaces. Drinks good, vodka is the speciality (try 6 flavoured shots for 8, e.g. apple, chocolate, toffee etc!) but it will take you a while to get served- took us half an hour and that was last Tuesday night. Enjoy it though, classy place.
