I have been here a couple of times recently. The place isn't that clean, hardly anyone goes there and The London Pride isn't good. I wouldn't recommend it.

THE "WHITE LION" SAINT ALBANS ROAD BARNET EN5 4lA Our Evening at Smitts Restaurant! A group of 20 ladies went along to Smittts Restaurant to have a night out and we found that it was not just the usual night out but a great one. the Chef Lee introduced himself to us with a very pleasant manner, and asked when we would like to start our meal. We said about 15 minutes. We then went to the bar and ordered our drinks where the staff were very helpful.the starter came along and we were shocked as the starters were like the best restaurant in Town and at the end of the starters there was not a thing left on the plate. We were so happy and the main course arrived the meal was so well presented and cooked we clapped not at all like a pub meal everything was made from scratch.by this time we were feeling a little full but when the sweets arrived they were delicious we couldn't resist. It was an amazing evening made by the Chef and the White Lion Staff. WE WOULD RECOMMEND THIS VENUE TO ANYONE IT IS SO WELL WORTH GOING THERE FOR A LOVELY MEAL AND DRINKS. All at very reasonable prices. Good luck to you hope you continue to have a full house. Our thanks for a most enjoyable evening. Nice Fullers pub at the northern end of Barnet. I had a pint of Seafarers ale from the Gales brewery which was not only exceedingly fresh and well-kept, but was brought to us in the garden, together with complementary peanuts, by a very welcoming landlord. At £3.50 a pint it was not too pricey in the context of Barnet prices. Also available were london Pride and ESB. One of the best pubs in Barnet.

A small Fullers pub mainly used by locals. Fullers ESB very good but a bit pricey for the area at nearly £4. Usually a couple of other quality ales on the pumps too. The manager is very welcoming and helps create a good atmosphere.

We were in here recently on one of our regular Pub crawls of Barnet. Its now a Fullers house but its a very nice and well kept & clean pub. Looks like its recently been decorated. Its a Nice traditional pub with Two bars one at front and a larger bar at back where there was a band playing some Jazz. We had Two pints Of ESB and a Pint of London Pride both Ales were in excellent condition. We found the staff & other customers very welcoming and polite. I would definitely recommend popping in if passing and I will adding this Pub to our regular crawls of Barnet.

I have been going to this pub for several years, before the refurbishment it had only ever been due to its location, however following its brilliant makeover and change of hands it is now a pub I choose to go to over others in the area. Karl is very welcoming, and it is a relief to see a slightly more diverse age range in the pub. The drinks are very reasonably priced and the pub is relaxed and accomodating.
In addition, in the several years that I have been drinking in the lion I have never known a Louise behind the bar...

I've recently started frequenting the White Lion having moved back to the area and cannot believe the difference. A friendly welcome and fantastic atmosphere along with friendly staff have made my return much easier. Wonderful re opening after a refurbishment have only set to enhance the overall White Lion experience. Well recommended for drinks and food alike, a bright future for the new landlord and lady who remember their customers and go out of their way to make a relaxed environment. I will be recommending this establishment to all.

since karl and Sam took over at the start of Nov 2010 its brilliant....they get on with everyone(unlike the last landlord!!)and Karl is a dab hand in the kitchen also....I tried his tai green cuury last week and was gorgeous!! Yes the place is looking a bit tired but having a re-furb in a few months so I'm told. the food menu is very good, it's now clean!! really happy my local has re-opend....couldnt of hand picked two better people 4 the job if I handpicked them myself!!!!long live the LION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have to admit that I was a bit daunted about visiting this pub after reading some of the reviews however being a notherner I was made to feel very welcome..enjoyed a lovely roast dinner at a very good price. Place needs a bit of work however the couple running it Karl or Carl and Sam were very friendly and have created a nice atmosphere..good stuff

A bit jaded and faded but still your archetypal pub lay out with front bar and rear lounge which doubles as a dining area at times - though for a change it does seem like the food takes second place to drinkers for a change. Clientelle and barman were friendly enough and the Pride was under three quid a pint which isn't steep for the Lonodn area these days. Saying that though the ale wasn't up to a lot (and it is a Fuller's house) and I'd probably go for the lager on a return visit.

looks nice from outside with the flowers and all that but inside was a let down. pricey, unwelcoming and disinterested bar staff. won't be back.

Seriously gone down hill in the last year or so. What's happened to the food?

This place has a restaurant feel, but the small separate bar area is very relaxed and I enjoyed my time here. The barman and governor were very friendly and I got chatting to a regular at the bar who seemed nice enough. The Discovery was top notch and Pride, ESB and Osset Brewerys Black Bull were also available alongside some standard lagers. There are a couple of old TVs and the pub has Sky Sports which is always handy.
I wouldnt plan to go back here again for the pub itself, but I will pop back in again based on the hospitality that I was shown.

Lovely local pub, looks really pretty from outside with all the flowers. Very friendly staff and great food at good prices.

Used to be a popular boozer. After top Landlord Tony sold it to Fullers its been downhill all the way. Biggest RIP OFF prices in the area. About 4 for a vodka nad coke. Full of wideboys from the market on Weds and Sats.
