Hall & woodhouse. Over priced, poor, flavourless beer. Not keen on any of their beers. This aside, the pub is nice. Just shame about the beer!

Went in here for the first time on Sunday - I thought it was a Youngs pub, but was pleasantly surprised to find it is Hall and Woodhouse!
Lovely pub, great beer , beautiful large garden. Only downside was price - at 6.40 for a pint and a pint of coke I think thats a bit on the steep side, but it's H&W, they only do good pubs and good beer, so sometimes you have to excuse the price!!!
Will be back, as often as we can afford ;D

HAD A FANTASTIC AFTERNOON AT THE VINE, WITH GREAT FOOD, EXCELLENT STAFF AND GREAT ENTERTAINMENT FOR THE CHILDREN. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED AND SURE TO RETURN. THANKS GUYS

Been using this Pub since I moved here 10 years ago and it has seen a few changes of personnel. The current chaps, Linda and Pete, are in my opinion the best. The food is really classy and they have made a great effort in bringing the Pub up to date. Keep up the good work. Only negative I have is the choice of lagers on offer. Hall and Woodhouse for you.

This is a great pub a couple of miles outside central WorthingI in Tarring. The atmosphere on Sarturday is vibrant and fun! The customers are mainly grom the young to people in their middle ages. The selection of drinks are really good too with some interesting and unusual spirits on offer!
This pub had a great karaoke night last Saturday and seemed to go down a storm ! For someone who has never done this before I had a crack at it and really enjoyed it!!
I hope this pub has more entertainment like this in future and will seriously consider going to this pub before venturing into central Worthing. Keep the good work up!!

pangolin, "The decoration doesn't work" is an unusual comment from someone with your experience !! In my simple opinion, a good all round pub that caters for most tastes which includes better than average smoking facilities, cleanliness, quality of ales, good garden etc..etc...etc.. It may be a little pricey by local standards but.....you get a lot more for your money. 8/10

Ah, the age-old debates about The Vine, Tarring. Older customers will remember how the pub was before it's relatively recent refurb and change of management. Firstly, although the new decoration feels a bit too cold and modern, it is good to see investment in the pub. The clients have also changed; from the 'old lags' (some of whom defected to The George and Dragon)to a perhaps younger client base of students and the occasional shaven-headed builder blocking the bar. The prices also feel a bit expensive for Worthing, and there seems to be regularly changing bar staff. That said, The Vine remains a historic and generally friendly pub, with a good variety of beers. Worth a try.

The decoration doesn't work somehow and doesn't really make for a good atmosphere. Tried too hard? Still, smarter than average and food tasty if not exceptional.

Trying to get back to its glory days. A younger (compared to before) crowd now use this place and given it a bit of life. Well worth a visit. A big garden round the back.
|
Pub was nothing out of the ordinary but beer was good and a bit pricy. Best to try the George & Dragon down the road.
|
Although not quite as good as it used to be this is a good pub with character. The range of ales is good and my wife enjoys the selection of Gales wines.
|
A real pub, with real beers, and a real landlord. Good mix of ages and plenty of friendly banter. After the first visit, I have almost become a regular!
