Lovely pub and very friendly. My only criticism is that the ale is too warm and sometimes lifeless. It could be the Hall & Woodhouse brewery at fault but I have had better Badger elsewhere.

It's had its ups and downs but now is great , new chef , amazing good in the week and also roasts and has a good cosy atmosphere ,. Definatley try the polish apple cake , it's scrumptious!

Used to be my favourite pub in brighton, however for the last two years has been run badly. With no atmosphere and bad sunday lunches - As a local resident I retry the pub every couple of months to see if things have improved. Today -Sunday lunch - the music was way above volume 11 - which meant me and my friends could not hear each other. The meal was sooooooooo salty I still feel sick.

Nice place, good atmosphere. Badgers selection but the Tanglefoot was off!. Way too expensive for a regular option

Friend of mine took me here for a beer and banter whilst in Brighton for a few days. Nice friendly pub with a fantastic bar maid/wench called Robbie, who has a wonderful smile and a sense of humour. I hope we will meet again Robbie. Would return for more jovolities and a little libation and food.

Great pub.. a plus or minus.. is that the manager stands on the bar drunk at the end of the night shouting and then ushers you out.. fun times!?!?!?!?

Best pub in town. best thing about it is its just down the rd.

A charming little local pub, with friendly and knowledgable staff, and lovely ales, and engaging regulars! There is a young fellow called Alan who has been a fine drinking companion on several of my visits to the 'Crescent', and we have happily whiled the hours away setting the world to rights! I shall warn you, however, I am showing my age here, but I cannot party like I used to.

I think this pub is great. Off the beaten track but v. pleasant.

The barmaids are angels. Not sure about the "disturbing customers", Not encountered any as yet! A wonderful pub!
|
This pub is starting to lose the plot. Many of the barstaff are clueless and some disturbing customers are starting to creep in. You read it here first.

In the basement flat of 44 Park Crescent during the summer of 1934 the life of Violet Kaye came to a violent end, thus sparking off one of Brightons famous trunk murders. Toni Mancini, who admitted packing Kayes torso into a cabin trunk and removing it to another address, was found not guilty at his trial, only for him to confess publicly to the murder forty-two years later. Whether Mancini popped round the corner to the Park Crescent for a stiff drink after the bloody deed is not recorded. The pub was GBG listed from 1998 to 2001, but that was in its King and Barnes period, before the 2000 takeover and closure of that much loved Sussex brewery by Hall and Woodhouse. Even so, the Park Crescent is still worth mentioning for its decent pint of Gribble Fursty Ferret. Also served are the H&W brewed ales, Tanglefoot and the misleadingly named King and Barnes Sussex Bitter. There is a circular drinking and seating area around a central bar. Old photos decorate the walls. (Spring 2004)

Very nice King & Barnes pub. Actually the food can be excellent, and the current barstaff are very good. Unusually for a Brighton "back street" pub, this one isn't at all cliquey and is well worth visiting if you're in the area.

Nice pub. Good atmosphere and off the beaten track. Food is not amazing but ok and fairly decently priced. They do look after their beer though and the staff are always friendly. Nice warm place in Winter.
