2nd of the Good Beer Guide entries in town. Nice walk through some architecturally pretty streets. In fact, Wokingham is very pretty indeed.
This is a greene king pub but they do offer LocALE brews and I went for a never seen before Twyford Tipple, after being offered an approving sample.
Decent enough pint but the head instantly disappeared, leaving it a touch lifeless.

Really quaint looking traditional pub inside and out, friendly staff, wide and interesting selection of ales, just 5 minutes from station.
Distinct smell of urine permeates the bar area.

I understand that this is now one of Greene King's "Local Heroes" pubs which as well as having GK beers can now offer local beers as well. Great idea and about time. Sadly my Good Old Boy (from West Berks Brewery) was not up to scratch and I actually left half of it. This is a fabulous ale when on form and even though it was a very reasonable £3.00 a pint it was really lacking in every respect. Having said that I will return and try the pub again as it was good to see 3 local breweries represented in a Big Boys pub! It is a charming little pub by the way and you can sit outside and watch the world go by - there is also a garden at the rear.

Small Pub that seems to have just been redecorated and has some new furnature. A locals Pub with Dart Board Six real Ales on offer. Had a nice pint of Greene King Abbott Ale but at £3:55 a Pint quite expensive. Seating area in the front which would be a sun trap in the summer. worth a second visit.

As a newcomer to Wokingham (albeit from that great tradition of Yorkshire beer) I'm inclined to agree that this one is pretty good. I still live in York, most of the time (Thank God!) but it's nice to know the old South Country (where I was born) can still hack it in the ale stakes when push comes tom shove!

Great cosy pub for a cold winters day and a good pint of Landlord to match.
Great little pub. Went in on Friday night and tried the Green King - London's Glory which was nice as an alternative to the usual G.K. fayre. Atmosphere good and a place you feel welcome whether a local or a stranger.
This is a proper pub. there aren't many left in wokingham and it's good to see nothing has changed since the change in Landlord. My only gripe would be that it's a little tough on the pocket, but you pay for what you get, a warm welcome and a good pint.

Gone down a bit in recent months. Service is often slow and a new louder clientele is dominating to the detriment of locals, some of whom have moved on.
New licensee Chris has taken over and is doing a fine job. Very busy early doors Saturday evening, but everyone got served promptly and the beer (particularly the Abbot) was excellent. Shame the guest beer had run out but even GK beers taste good when kept as well as that. Good luck to Chris - he doesn't want to change anything - which should mean the Queens will continue to be one of the best drinking pubs in the area.
Licensees have now left so changes may be a-coming! Let's hope not for the worse.

This is a proper pub like pubs should be. A bit small but with a big heart. Best pub in Wokingham. Much improved in recent years.
Has certainly improved over the last couple of years - there's now a wider range of GK ale (plus a guest) served well (if a little cold). The inside of this small pub has been re-jigged to maximise space. I was happy to read the provided Sunday papers with a pint on the weekend just gone. A worthwhile stop in Wokingham, well done landlord.

Looks like your ideal traditional town pub, but a wide age range of custom, decent GK Morlands and some interesting bar food set it apart.
Great pub with good beer. The pub is a Greene King tied pub with four real ales on tap.; Greene King IPA, Abbot Ale and Morland Original are the regulars plus a guest ale. The guest ale on my last visit on Tuesday was the simply delicious St. Austell's Tribute.
The Morland's bitter was pretty good and reasonably priced for Wokingham. A traditional pub with lots of character. On the day I went the Police and Paramedics turned up after a (one-sided) fight took place outside the pub, probably the last place I expected something like that to happen! I'm sure it's a rare occurrence though and wouldn't put me off visiting again.

Just gets better & better. Great beers, hog roasts, aunt sally in the garden. Wish I could spend more time there. Great hosts behind the bar too !!!
Odd little place - a mix of old fellas with dogs, and younger 20-somethings enjoying a beverage or two.
Very quiet in general; good to turn up to with a close buddy for a catch up, but you won't be entertained outside of the people you are with. Extremely annoying locals who perch unsympathetically at the bar, tutting if you try and get served over them.
Nice outside area with TV, heaters and shelter accomodating rugby games, and the odd football match.
Try your hand at 'Aunt Sally' - it's not as rude as it sounds.

Much better since new ownership. Good beers, friendly atmosphere and now serving basic food lunchtimes.
one of the few pubs in wokingham where you can go as you are.
no pretensions here, just a nice pub
Can't park, pricy average beer, VERY smokey, nice enough staff, but won't return
A bit pokey, a bit smokey. Decent service and the beer was good (if expensive). Not the best pub in town, but not the worst either.
Very friendly and inviting pub. Predominantly Green King ales as well as usual fizz. Very expensive beer, but 'local' atmosphere makes up for taking a bank loan before buying a round.
If you've never been you've missed out. Pokey but very cosy pub, great for warming up by the fire on a cold winters evening or sitting outside on the terrace on a balmy summer night.
Predominantly a locals boozer, but I've always been made to feel very welcome on my occasional visits here.
