I walked past last week on my way to the train station.

Evening trade was non-existent in this new restaurant. Should have kept it as a pub!

Newly reopened as an Italian cafe-bar. Completely changed, a loss to pubdom.

This pub closed two or three weeks ago - a notice at the front informs that they have ceased trading. However, I saw workmen entering one morning last week, so it may re-open after refurbishment.

Should have mentioned that it's a rugby friendly pub so on match days at the Rec it gets crowded in here. In fact, avoid the whole of Bath on match days - all the pubs are crowded, as are the shopping areas, car parks and trains.

Great pub and they serve a nice pint of Otter. Friendly staff.

very good beers, friendly service, over-priced city food tho....seemed to be plenty of takers.
nicely turned out place. will visit again.

Ostensibly, a slight contradiction in terms: a posh bar, but with good beer. This is a slick, upmarket and quite trendy outlet, which one might assume charges too much for style over content. However, despite the market it is pitching to it is not arrogantly assuming they will have more money than sense and pay lots more for much less in terms of food and drink.
The Rummer's ale selection would please even the most weirdest of beardies, and shows that in Bath it pays to ensure that the genuinely discerning palate is catered for just as well as that which is content to quaff endless fake fizz. Its emphasis on quality across the spectrum ensures that whilst still rather snooty, the place isn't completely dominated by superficial but minted oafs and oafettes - they will prefer a corporate-style cocktail bar.
I agree that the music was a little incongruous though. I have a nostalgic regard for '80s dance-pop but I don't think it was applicable to the kind of ambience the Rummer seems to be trying to cultivate!

Brilliant, upstairs is the killer with one room of long big wooden tables and another overlooking the weir with sofas and soft chairs and cupboards and drawers and its just like home but 10 times posher! Legend.

Slightly pricey, slightly too keen on the high-energy disco soundtrack too but the beer is good.

Thoroughly recommended Bath centre pub where you can normally get a seat and are able to sit and talk

Fine beers. Summer Lightning the real star when we visited. All the noise went on upstairs, they have a games room or something. But a real survivor among Bath's city pubs. Recommended.

A decent pint and nice surroundings. Food was tops not much else to say as we visited when it was quite.

Nice and relaxing, with loads of real ales. Only problem is, don't make too much noise-the regulars don't like it

A couple of good real ales. Hosts Bath Green Drinks upstairs on the 2nd Wednesday of the month.

A fine little pub, in a fine location overlooking the river.

Does a marvellous sunday lunch.
