Walked past the pub for old times sake last week, such a shame, it was by far the best pub in Taunton for years, even now its still got all the pub signs up, its almost as if it could open up again. Unfortunately the local ConLib MP has taken it over as his office, what an utter disgrace!

Its the Lib Dem HQ actually, but thats beside the point - it's no longer a pub!!

I wish I'd read this before traipsing round there with the memsahib! It's now the Conservative Party HQ. Buggeur!

A secret no longer, this pub has now closed down forever.

(Note it's opposite St Mary's church, not Magdalene)

A traditional pub just off the main high street in Taunton, right opposite Magdalene church.
Voted CAMRA Somerset pub of the year in 2002, there are a wide selection of traditional beers (as well as the usual lagers and stouts) on tap: All extremely well looked after.
A great food selection as well, makes this a great retreat from a days shopping, or a special visit in itself.
