Vane Arms, Sudboroughback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Revisited The Vane recently on a Tuesday lunchtime . Treated the wife and me to lamb shank on a pillow of mash served with fresh vegetables. Brilliant! (as was, of course, the real ale)
Am enjoying this pub visited on Friday evening also, had a late snack and drank too much ale in a lovely pub amongst great company.
Closes for the month of September for a full refurbishment ~ I understand.

Recently taken over by Aaron Jones, previously developed the Tollemache Arms (Harrington), The Royal Oak, (Walgrave) and The Kings Arms (Polebrook). Traditional pub in a very picturesque village. Small but fantastic menu of fresh locally sourced food. Due for a total refurbishment at the end of summer. Well worth a visit.

I meant the post below my origional one was outdated sorry

me and a friend went for a meal here a earlier this week and i have to say the food was excellent, i had Coq au Vin and my friend had the steak and ale pie, the service was homely and the prices were good too.
I reccommend this to anyone after a good meal

The above post is outdated as the tenants have changed.
The food is now all homemade and the pub has a selection of around 5/6 real ales.
The service is very friendly and if you fancy challenging your taste buds ask to try the beetroot and horseradish ice cream
all ice creams e.t.c are homemade also and i think they're about to start making their own sausages
A must try for all foodies and to top it all the chips are Hand cut on site

Nice enough pub, friendly staff who made you feel welcome. Avoid the food as we found it obviously bought in and just heated up and therfore represented poor value for money. I was charged 3.50 for a dessert and then saw exactly the same dessert in the same portion size in Morrisons Cafe for about 1.50!!!
