Racehorse, Warwickback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
my partner and I decided to go for a meal on the may bank holiday monday at the racehorse. On arrival we bought a couple of drinks at the bar and I was absolutely disgusted to find that the racehorse charged 2 for a 33cl bottle of mineral water!
I ordered the warwick chicken, my partner had gammon steak and we shared a portion of cheesy garlic bread. Both meals came with chips and peas. There was nothing positive that can be said about the food at all.The warwick chicken came in a ceramic dish with a vile bbq sauce covering a rasher of bacon and two slabs of chicken which I had to fish around in the sauce to find. my partner asked for her gammon cooked well done, it came out barely cooked and the chips on both meals where stale and over-fryed, the peas had seen better days and the garlic bread was matted with the worst cheese I have ever tasted. Sack the chef!!!!!!!

We have eaten here many times. It is always good for an alternative to cooking tea at home, being reasonably priced and usually quick arrival of food. We have only once had a poorer meal, when we ordered steak meadium and it really was quite rare, everything else has been very good. It wont wow you with exciting meals, but if you want good honest pub food I would certainly recommend it. Just once other point after reading the other reviews, we have always eaten here in the week, so wouldnt like to comment on the wait for food at busy weekend times.

Have used this pub occasionally in the past with no problems but last Saturday evening was a complete disaster. Ordered food at 7.30 and was told there`d be a 40 min. wait which was fine. After an hour and half and still no food we decided to cancel order and get refund as did another 6 tables. The manageress was very hostile and did`nt offer any explanation or any form of apology. We had spent quite a fair amount on drinks and felt very disappointed. Won`t be going back!

A good place to take the family. More an eating pub than a drinking but very much family friendly. The tiger's good though.

I visted this establishment on a wonderful summers day. We sat outside an soaked up the rays in their beautiful beer garden. The beer and wine was quite extraordinary, in a good way. We then ordered, i had warwick chicken whilst my partner ordered the mixed grill, we also ordered a sides of garlic bread. We received the food about 15 minutes after we ordered. The Warwick chicken was a big breast of chicken topped with bacon and cheese in a truly exquisite bbq sauce, it was great. The mixed grill was fabulous and the garlic bread was delicious. After dinner we sat outside drinking magners with ice and we saw a young child fall off the play equipment opposite the car park. I was very impressed to see how quick the management was to help the child and parent by providing them with plasters and ice packs and even gave the child an ice cream to calm it down. all in all we found this place very impressive and i must commend the owner/manager for its dining, child friendlyness, beer, parking, excellent service and great atmosphere.

Visited this pub at 3pm Sunday afternoon. It was very busy. Ordered Mix Grill (with rare Steak), 2x Lamb Shank & a 16oz (Medium) Rump Steak. We had been told there was a 40 min wait.
65 Min later when the food arrived the mix grill had no steak on it, the sausages were totally dried up they looked like a dog turd, the 16oz Rump steak which should have been cooked medium was well done and the chips were soggy & cold. We asked for Mint sauce, non was brought for the Lamb and no other sauces were offerd. The lamb shank was cooked rare also, not a complaint but no choice of cooking was offered for this, so ask if you like it well done. Peas were watery & Onion rings were soggy also.
When we asked the waitress about the missing steak & overcooked sausages, she begrudingly took the plate back and brought back a overcooked piece of steak (which we ask for Rare) and the sausages were still hanging around waiting to be buried.
We asked her to take it back again and her reply was " Thats how it comes" We then saw the manager who replaced the meal (after another 10 min wait) and brought it back but no apology and this time the fried egg white was still very runny, but we had given up by this point.
I didnt complain about the 16oz steak as it was a lovely piece, just not cooked as requested, but I had to leave 1/2 of it as it was so dry due to the overcooking.
Before we ordered looking around all the food looked wonderful and the varied menu made it hard to choose, but I have to say we will not be visiting this pub again for food. Very disapointed.

The manager is lovely and the pub food is great. They have no smoking areas and lots of places to sit. The outside area is fantastic with lots of pretty flowers and places for children to play.
