This place is now a Co-Op.

It was a real shame that this place closed and never re-opened as a going concern and now due to be turned into yet more housing. With the Alex around the corner closing too this area has had a bit of a run on pubs in recent years.
This was a large imposing pub that appeared in a multitude of different colours over the years from being bright green and ventually turning lilac.
The pub was split into two with a usually empty saloon bar and another door leading to the more lively public bar. The public bar was usually our venue of choice as it had a pool table, a jukebox with a good selection of tunes and a big screen showing sport.
You used to get the odd character in there but the place always seemed friendly and was very well run by Jerry with a firm but kind hand. Had some good memories of nights spent playing pool with one of my best mates and sinking a few pints. Yet another local consigned to the history books :(

The RPT is no more, it closed in October 2012 and has been boarded up with a for sale sign. Local gossip says it will be turned into more 'luxury apartments' that will look like all other identikit flats the Kingston Borough Council allow to be built and spoil the character of this area

Now Thai food quantity fine quality...to be decided

The pub's run by an irishman and the Guinness is always excellent. The Parish Priest from the church opposite is said to hear confessions in the public bar! Excellent home-cooked chinese food is served - more than you can eat for a fiver last time I visited. Very much a traditional local, highly recommended.

One of my favourite pubs in Kingston, has The Harry Roberts Table which is a real boon

Doom Bar and Pride as stated above, both were ok. Separate public and lounge bars. Welcoming was friendly. A bit out of the way though.

An unexceptional local's pub - Deuchars and IPA on tap although I was in the mood for a lager so bought an (expensive) San Miguel. The interior is unusually divided into two halves although the half I was in was not desperately exciting. The landlady was very friendly though.

I dont think that this place has changed its decor or clientel for a very long time. Bit of a shithole(and pricey to boot)but pool table is decent and jukebox is good value. Used to take advantage of this place before the licensing laws were relaxed as this was one of the only pubs in the area apart from the Willoughby that you could get a drink after 11pm.

This pub is now yellow.

I have no idea what the public bar is like but the lounge is ok if dated. They do Boddies which is unusual in this area.

A superb local pub with very friendly staff and locals. The Thai food is tasty and reasonably priced and the reange of drinks is wide. There is a pool table and big screen TV for all Sky shows and sports. Some others have said this pub is not for a lively night out but with a good jukebox i have had some very good nights.

Agreed not a pub for a lively night out, but staff are friendly and Thai food is really good, particularly their Thursday night special- 5.50 for a pint and a curry that takes some beating.
