Popped in at lunch time today and enjoyed 2 pints of Summer Perle (Westerham brewery). Beer was spot on. Excellant condition. Very pleasant pub.

We stumbled on this place, after a long near-aimless hike from the Mary Rose (well peculiar) in St Mary's Cray, where we were staying.
It was a most welcome find.
Decent food, atmosphere and pints of Adnams.

Comment: Was passing by and remembered drinking here years ago so we popped in. Doombar, British Bulldog and... best of all, Adnams bitter. The beer was well kept and the bar staff were nice. Will be coming here again after the Polhill shopping is done to chill out in the well kept garden.

Went here for a meal last night. Place busy but a couple of tables free. Staff very helpful, food nice, beer good, nice fire. Really very good. Oh, and prices now reasonable - several mains under 10, and an excellent very large bit of nicely cooked venison was 14, which seems fair enough.

Went out for a meal here for the first time in a few years and wondered why we hadn't been on more occasions. Beer was good before the meal and the meal was very tasty and good value. Only downside is it's a bit on the busy side and maybe the service is a little rushed at times.

First visit to this pub in a peaceful location, yet so close to the motorway and busy roads. Good looking pub from the outside and inside. Nice atmosphere inside. Had a pint or two of the Harveys Sussex Bitter, in very good condition. (one of my favourite beers anyway) We didn't eat, but will definately return to sample the fare.

Lovely pub, lots of character, lovely position considering how close to M25 J4(no noise). Horses grazing near by. Food excelent with average prices. Graham (Landlord) & wife always make you welcome. A very easy place to just stop off for a pint or an evening out with the Mrs for a meal.

Went with the family who ate while i drank...no complaints from either. Friendly staff too which is always encouraging.

Nice village pub. Busy when we went there, but friendly enough. Really good atmosphere. Food looks pricey though..

15C inn with excellent atmosphere, shame standard Christmas fare did not live up to expectations, overcooked and overpriced. Service below par, Harveys beer perfect, pity they did not care that they served it in dirty glasses. Unlikely to visit again.

A nice 15th Century pub with a huge inglenook fireplace. The interior appears to have been touched up recently and the food is good. The Harveys is always in top condition which is a big plus. Food is a bit overpriced, but definately worth a visit.

Perfectly nice pub with OK food and drink, but a horrible concrete garden and ludicrous prices. 17.95 for a Dover Sole? I've no idea what market they're aiming at with those sort of prices.

Listed building and very attractive. Seems to have changed hands since last I was there. More restaurant atmosphere than pub, but made welcome enough. Will go back again.

fantastic evening very nice food and not a england flag in site yippee

Just recently changed hands. High standard of food has been maintained, with fish dishes somewhat of a speciality, but also excellent beef, pork, duck and lamb. Tasty, I think innovative, vegetarian dishes available. Wine list improving with New World whites and reds by the bottle and glass. A La Carte menu and daily specials. Very welcoming staff. Not beer fanatic, but Courage Best and Directors well kept. Problem, hopefully temporary, with the Greene King IPA. Very welcoming staff.

Nightmare to get to but well worth it when you get there. Greene King IPA in superb condition- honestly the best I've had outside Suffolk.
|
Enchanting little traditional country pub, complete with low beams, open fire & relic embossed pump clips. Greene King IPA, Courage Best & a precisely served Directors on offer. Restaurant is particularly popular for Sunday lunch, with evening menu, specials board & traditional bar food also promising. Landlord & lady were smart & perfectly friendly & nibbles of nuts & cheese on the bar is always a nice touch. Even has a big ol' garden for the summer sun. If they could just add a more unusual guest ale or two this would be every trad pub-lover's holy grail.

SITUATED IN A QUITE RURAL AREA THE PUB IS A GRADE1 LISTED BUILDING SERVING GREAT FOOD AND ALE. LARGE REAR GARDEN AND INSIDE EXTENSIVE DINING AREAS.
