It is a nice pub witha reasonable nselection of drinks. Good for a lively night out but it is slightly average. Good events on but there are pubs in the town that can do far better. Very friendly bar staff.

Ahh the 'Bin, what a pub in it's heyday. Bikers, greasers, rockers, goths, pool table, tablefootball, loud jukebox, live bands.

It 'aint like that anymore. Personally, I can't go in there, it makes me sad for my lost youth.

I'm sure it's just fine

Popped in there one lunchtime, as I was visiting Maidstone. Quiet, but very friendly. Lovely building with a great view out the front window. Shepherd Neame was very good. Food was lovely, if a little over-priced. Agree with the previous comment about the clutter of bar stools. Nevertheless, a very nice visit was had.

Bar cluttered by a barrier of bar stools. Unexceptional Sheps. No atmosphere. Shalln't be returning in a hurry.

Dead as a dodo on a Wednesday night (but probably due to the fact that it wasn't showing the England vs Germany friendly), this Sheps house is certainly better than most town-centre pubs. During the day, a handy spot to escape to if your other half finds the soulless shops of Fremlin Walk more appealing than a pint of Master Brew.

Splendid old building near the new Fremlins Walk shopping development. The pub has recently undergone one of Shepherd Neame's extensive and invasive refurbishments which has somehow cleaned away most of the genuine character and charm, though the remaining cleaned wood and scrubbed brick has a fresh from the bath feel that is light, attractive and certainly very trendy. Two casks on - Spitfire and MasterBrew. The Spitfire was in stunning condition. The atmosphere in the pub is relaxed and pleasant with 70s and 80s background music. The small bar cluttered with bar flies and stools is one complaint, and the poor quality imitation J2O is another. However, this is certainly an above average pub in a useful central location.

I don't get the opportunity to go to this pub anymore, but I have very fond memories of it.
